  1. Never saw any bother myself, but then I was straight on the coach. Saw a few kids in Stone Island before the game who called us Geordie Cunts. They were only about 16 and were posturing but I think if the prospect of a fight came up, they'd probably have shit themselves. But most the Forest fans were OK. Sounds like one of the little fuckers after the game who was shouting some abuse at some of our lot until I tapped him on the shoulder and advised him it wasn't a good idea to carry on. His face was a fucking picture when he realised he wasn't with 'friends'. The whole place pissed me off yesterday. Loads of bars not letting you in, few of the cunts seemed friendly and that isn't the way to go when you've a large (and in some cases, drunk) following coming to town. Almost got arrested for telling a policeman a couple of home truths as the home fans could goad and mock at will but we apparently weren't. We owe these small cocks a heavy defeat and at the minute, I really don't fancy seeing any of the fuckers in Rosies or wherever when they come up here. They'll have a fucking nerve if they do.
  2. Editor: "Worst striker in premier history but only played four games?" Journo: "He signed for Noocarsell after the World cup." Editor: "Oh! He played for Noocarsell? Put him in then." Journo: "I don't fink he was a messiah." Editor: "Ah, just put 'im in. 'so-called' called best fans my arse."
  3. Here's a post I did earlier on this subject on another forum; What I would add to this is this, In the late nineties, S&N asked the council to demolish some houses around Bath Lane as they wanted to build a new bottling hall in the area and create some jobs. The council complied and knocked them down only for the company to have second thoughts. The council quite rightly told them they'd better go ahead with it as they'd already knocked down the houses in what was Buckingham Street. In 1999 Sir Bobby Robson officially opened the new bottling hall which cost S&N £16M. The botting hall ran very well after a shaky start and was packaging the vast majority of the export NBA to the USA. The American NBA was the real moneyspinner for the company and they made far more from this than they did from the home trade, (returnable bottles). In about 2004 they spent another £16M and built another new bottling hall in Tadcaster and transferred the US stuff to them and left us in the shit. Then about a year later they closed the Tyne Brewery. They moved to Dunston as Dunston had a bottle washer in place and Tadcaster couldn't take on the home trade as they didn't have a bottle washer. After two years S&N announced they weren't going to be using returnable bottles anymore and all home trade would be 'new glass' only, (a move which we asked for on many occasions whilst at the Tyne Brewery but it never suited them at the time). So that was Dunston's reason for being gone. They then swiftly had a review and closed the Bottling and Kegging. They have been trying to get out of Newcastle for years and make some money on the land. The Chronicle and local media were just interested in their 'last orders' headlines and didn't want, or weren't bright enough to dig into the real reasons S&N sold out a part of Newcastle heretage.
  4. Shouldnt you be getting the snip I am at the end of the week I think this is the most interesting post of this thread. Make sure you've got a pack of frozen peas handy when you come back after being butchered. (People say it's not too bad and you'll playing football the next day........These people are lying, lying CUNTS!)
  5. Well I know it happened four years ago for a start! Any others?
  6. It's a fucking disgrace, actually. (Expect the local press to swallow the PR guff, though).
  7. They also filmed a pub scene in the Carville pub (Harry's Bar) in Wallsend, near the Metro station.
  8. Did I mention that Everton's support is fucking wank??? BTW - what do you think COYB stands for? You spotted my deliberate mistake! (I just saw the COY bit and assumed it was a Holsten pils Tottnumb fan. I spotted the B after I had posted but thought I'd got away with it and I would have gotton' away with it if it wasn't for you meddlin' kids.....)
  9. I couldn't think of the name! Cheers, PP. It looks like I was looking on the wrong website regarding the trains as national express will get you there and back with one change. Trouble is they're looking for £70 odd quid each which I thinks a bit much. It's a last resort, though. (I'll try toon-away first, back page second, rip-off-train, last.)
  10. Not a bad idea, however here's only the two of us going. If there was a few I'd probably sort something like this out myself, it's a bit annoying as there's sometimes a few in the club I get in who organise trips to aways but its a bit infrequent and sods law they're not doing anything for this game.
  11. I don't get to as many away games as I used to, However am trying to change this, went to Cardiff earlier on in the season and as we left it a bit late, we had trouble sorting travel out, we tried the Back page but they were sold out and there didn't seem to be any 'toon travel' type of organised coaches about, the trains were about as much use as a windscreen wiper on a submarine and at the last minute we heard about a bus leaving from Washington who took us, which wasn't ideal but got us out of a hole. Now we're going to Forest and from what I've seen the trains don't seem to any good for coming back, I've heard the back page are 'dry buses' and haven't got in touch yet. I seem to recall seeing someone on here who sometimes organises coaches, so, anyone have an idea how to get to Nottingham? It would seem like the likes of Cardiff and Nottingham were on the far side of the moon! (Obviously the easy answer of drive down ourselves is out as the idea of going to the game minus a drink is not on, for us anyway.)
  12. I thought the Antwerp fans who came a few years ago were superb. I was sat right near them and they were the most drunk away fans I've ever seen at St. James' Park. (Bearing in mind I've never seen us play the Old firm at home).
  13. Do you think there'll be a special report on the opposite trip? If a few hundred of them went to Hartlepool I'd have more respect to be honest, Tom.
  14. Most away fans this year have been better than most of last years PL clubs............. But................... How many have been tourists out to see a big stadium which a lot haven't been to in a few years if at all? QPR brought more to a wednesday night game in the 2nd division than they ever did when they were in the PL. We will be taking 4,200 to Forest for a televised saturday night game with more tickets asked for. We must have sold out every away game so far and again, some have already been televised or will be televised. We are averaging 40,000 in the 2nd division despite the club being an utter shambles. Still don't expect any praise to be heading our way any time soon, BBC's football league programme was a perfect example of this in our game v plymouth. A special report on the 2,500 Argyle fans making the 'long old poke' and plenty of mentions about them, yet not once mentioning the superb crowd of nearly 44 thousand who were there that day. Oh, well.
  15. Your fans were good craic, mate. Also remember you bringing a few in the eighties, too! Got no problems with you Owls. (A pity a lot of you forgot the way to Tyneside in your PL days.)
  16. I get the feeling the poster is a tottenham fan and numbers wise they've been up there with the best of the away fans in the last few years. They might have been top but we've given them a few beatings so they haven't had much to shout about. Stevies dig at the newly promoted clubs is a bit harsh but totally understandable, also thought that City's support last year was the worst I've ever seen from them for many a year. Villa's support were simply dreadful both in numbers and noise and I hesitate to put Man Utd and Liverpool in because although both fill the away end you can't help but think there's more than a few sad cunts following a team they've got no business following, plus in Man Utd's favour, it really can't do any harm on the mocking front when you win the majority of your games. Their wide variety of songs is impressive until you think about how they probably acquired them! They have support from all over, expect their songs to mirror that fact! If we're exempt from this poll, the best away fans at St James' Park would be ........I won't say Sunderland as it's a derby and to be expected that they'll sell out. I won't say Man Utd or Liverpool for the reasons given but I'll go for Man City or Leeds for consistency through the years.
  17. Nice to see the 'Sport' branching out into Africa!
  18. I used to go to Eds a few years ago when he had the little shop on the corner and go along with all that. Thank God I'm from Newcastle!
  19. You'd have to have pretty good mates for that.
  20. Are they watching the annual NUFC 100 metre sprint race featuring, Shola, Geremi and Kevin Nolan?
  21. Out of interest, did you ever give Sunderland any consideration? They've got some great lights on at Seaburn seaside and a smashing national glass centre if you're up for the weekend and got a bit of time on your hands.
  22. How to win friends and influence people! There was a barber in Wallsend I sometimes went to. Canny enough lad, but would stop and use both his hands gesturing when he got carried away talking to you, instead of just cutting and talking, (Or better still, cutting and not talking). Am now in the stage of doing a "trampy home job" myself and prefer it to traipsing to a barbers which I always hated having to do. (I'm going the way of Zidane now, anyway.)
