  1. Too true I enjoy listening to Richardson, but Marcotti thinks he knows the lot, whilst Redknapp is, well, Redknapp!
  2. Were there ever any 'artists impressions' of the developement, particularly of the Gallowgate ?
  3. I was surprised there was no furore over that incident at Leicester. If you look at the replay, the Leicester player (whose name escapes me now, it's been so long. Maggot, I think his name is) 'done' Pedro deliberately imo.
  4. Close call but I'd take Martins, rather than Bellamy. Martins can score all types of goals which, at the end of the day, is what a striker is for. Bellamy, who has better control and probably a better football brain, doesn't score the same assortment of goals that Martins does imo. Therefore, Martins can work on the other parts of his game whilst still scoring the different type of goals whereas Bellamy can never learn to score the type of goals Martins does already.
  5. Christmas Avatar? Worse than having a tree up in October tbs tbs Who says it's snow...? After all, the volcano has erupted, big style, over the last 24 hours
  6. This is quite probably just an attempt to keep transfer prices down. By making a very public statement that a review will be done first before alloting cash for transfers, Ashley, I say Ashley, is not alerting selling clubs to how much NUFC is going to spend and, therefore, how much they can fleece us for their players. After all, we don't want to become a club who get conned by clubs selling crap players to us for ludicrous amounts of money, do we
  7. Been to The Falklands many times. The first was in '83. I even spent the whole of 1990 down there. A barren place with lovely people. I met on a couple of occasions the lad from Whitley Bay who was killed on Ardent - Simon Lawson. Not a friend, by any stretch of imagination, but the brother of someone I knew. Who knows if the loss of life was worth the fight to keep the islands British. I suppose that without a show of strength, every man and his dog around the world would have been claiming rocks and islands 'owned' by Britain. And just because the nearest nation to the Falklands is Argentina, doesn't necessarily mean that Argentina should own them, surely?

  9. Watched Venus on the big bird coming home. Excellent all round (well, apart, perhaps, from the overdoing of the 'chavness' of the lass for her first scenes). If you have the opportunity to see it - do so. 8, or 9, out of 10 on the Hips scale
  10. Mee too. Excellent. Watching the scenes shot in the Whitley Bay of my youth was great as well.
  11. Normal service has been resumed.
  12. Rest assured, you will be the first to have your hand shaken when I get to a piss up! An less of the old, please
  13. Bought a Sony DAB pocket radio at Heathrow. Dixon's tax free on-line quoted £112 but I paid £93. Can't wait to get home to see if the fuckin' thing works!!!
  14. Howay man, snakey! We have to drink with you at some point in the future and I just don't need them mental images when I'm asking you "What you having?" Apologies, gorgeous. If it makes you feel any better, I will think of you tonight!!
  15. 'Newcastle board in the dark' Aye, because Portly Freddie was standing at the fuckin' window! Freddie is in one hell of a position. The same position McKeag was in before SJH started making noises. Before SJH appeared over the horizon, the fans did not have a figurehead to champion their cause. Now history, to a certain degree, is repeating itself and Shepherd has to make the decision to sell up or become the biggest hate figure in the north east and all that goes with it. Just sell Freddie; take the money and leave. You had the club's best interest at heart - I honestly believe that - but you are just not up to the job (you never were).
  16. Why all the rush, rush, rush ?? Didn't Rodder's leave a message telling SA to check out a player twenty seven times first? Apolgies for being the late boy, but when I heard SA had been appointed I was a bit pissed off at the thought of Sammy Lee turning up on Tyneside. Such joy in the snake's heart when he learned the wee fella had taken the job of manager at Bolton
  17. Now get back to work, you bunch of lazy tossers! No wonder the country is on it's knees with you lazy fuckers needing days off every five minutes! Hope you all have sore heads. Jealous? Moi?
  18. Threads like this just make me even more frustrated Especially when they come from a horny chick Oh well, I suppose another ten days of being a confirmed isn't too bad to bear. At least a bit of DIY means it's getting done properly - something that some women just cannot get the hang Mind the splashes, folks!!!
  19. All this is such a red herring...Chelsea and Liverpool have bouts of long ball every match. We've been doing it for years! Hoof it up to Shearer/Martins and hope for the best! The trouble with the last couple of years is that The Premiership has been infested with journeyman/enthusiastic/thugs (particularly in midfield) and we haven't been able to cope.
  20. I'm getting confused in my old age. What does the style of football matter???? All I've been told for the past few years is that the only thing that matters is results - nothing more!! Why not get Lawrie Sanchez to get his formula for football in, a la Norn Iron?? After all, it's results that matter!!! Double standards from a lot of folk, I reckon, over Allardyce's 'brand' of football !
  21. 3 to 4 thousand sent e-mails for Roeder to be manager? My apologies. I didn't get my point across very well. I was being sarcastic. I was referring to the time when Portly Freddie attempted to pass the responsibility of Rodders' appointment down to the supposed huge numbers of messages he had received demanding G. Roeder was given the job. Not one person I know e-mailed NUFC!
  22. I've never had a season ticket as I've never needed one. However, I have been contemplating for a while to get one. This will probably sound twee to most of you, but this is the club I love and the more money that goes into the coffers, the better it will be. I get saddened at the cry for people not to re-new as I see it as an abandonment of the club. I fully appreciate that those who do have season tickets have forked out a lot of money over the years and I can't really know how they are feeling with the prospect of shelling out again for dross. Jim Smith's last home game was abandoned at half time due to torrential rain. It had been hoyin it doon for quite a while. My mrs said I was mad when I told her I was going, and said I would be soaked before I got to the top of the street. She was right on both accounts. As I explained to her before I went: the reason I am going is that it will be £7 (the admission charge at the time for the gallowgate end) less that the club have to find. Crazy, but true. So, I may not get a season ticket. But whatever happens, I will still feel sad at the drop of season ticket holders at the club, regardless of fans' reasons. That's all folks. I am ready for the onslought now:)
  23. The decision on who our next manger is lies with the fans. Just like it did when Roeder got appointed. It depends on how many fans e-mail NUFC demanding such and such a person. I, alone, must have sent in excess of 3 to 4 thousand (as I and you lot also did, no doubt, when Roeder was appointed) e-mails so far with my suggestion!
  24. Or a fat oaf, dressed in a toon top, who appears rather partial to pies/pasties etc. Hmmm, I wonder who they could get to model for it....? We should work a crest around this: No, no, no, that wont do. If you look closely, you will see that that is a 5th best shit!
