You taking the wife. The other 2 seats being for your arse Hope to see the new boys get a game and see what they're capable of against lower standard players. Got high hopes for every one of the 4 summer signings and Ben Arfa. We could potentially have a class midfield, we just need to add abit of fire power upfront and another centre half. I still don't see where Gosling fits. Next week may help show Pardews intentions. If I'm right, everyone at the club is fit and raring to go. The season starts here, for me.

It definitely will. Surely the home end will give us extra tickets though? The stadium holds 25k! I meant the away end. Doubt the home stands will be full but I'd sooner be in with the away fans that sat doon with loads of Darlo fans.

Aye mate. Right opposite the train station there's a few bars .. Pretty old school like. Darlington's wall to wall with Gypsy's. It'll be a canny night. 7.45pm kick off and if you get the train it's about £11 return. Sure the new recruits with be pleased to see 6000 fans travelling to an away friendly.

Go on nufc.co.uk, input your details. If you're not signed up already, then do it, you then click on tickets, away games and it directs you to the Darlo game. Choose how many tickets and age band (under 16s) for yee and we're all 'penned' in the upper north stand or something. Only a tenner a pop. I'm just going to park at my Darlo office and walk down to the ground. Takes a while to get out of the stadium carpark. It's a modern stadium, better standard than Watford, West Ham, Everton etc. You'll be stood up tho, i'd imagine. Nee sittin' doon yee.

Alan Pardew defends Newcastle spending policy

Ultimately, if Ashley wants the club to be self sufficient and not have to spend any of his own money then anyone could do that, majority better than Ashley. D'you fancy the role, Nick? -

But people totally ignore wages for players. The wage bill must be somewhere around 45 million, or even more. Whether or not people think that they can just pretend the wage bill doesn't exist, the fact remains that it does. And when you have finished telling me I'm spouting Ashey propaganda, then ask yourself, if my Ashley propaganda is true or not. Your Ashley propaganda isn't the point. You've totally overlooked everything said and focused on wages. We have a sustainable wage bill. What do you think would've happened for signings if Carroll hadn't have been sold? -
You've obviously not met HMHM, have you ..

This is how it is, Nick. The fans of United and every other club across the planet want to be entertained. Yes? To entertain and excite the aforementioned fans, they want to see in-form players at the top of their game. Yes? As it stands, taking into account how big football is in the North East, we have a decent team with an average squad. When we sold Andy Carroll we gained £35m and the fans were told by Pardew 'Look, if the boy goes, then the money must be invested in the side, all of it'. Now, after 2 free signings and Cabaye we've got to 'understand it's cost the majority of the money'. This just rubbed salt into the Hughton wound which was still stinging like the malasian's hands who made your shirt. We struggled massively in parts last season, whilst having great games the next week. We need a stronger squad who can remain consistent throughout the season. We could gamble on frees and unknown quantitys or we could show the fans a little bit of intent by saying 'Look, never again will we be given £35m for one player, so we'll use this money to take us to the next level'. You may see how on the surface, it does appear that this money has disappeared into the club. Nobody's saying sign Jackie Ronalmessi for £20m but a £4m bid for M'Bengue and a couple of highly rated others, with the stats to back them up, would do most of us. You just don't get it, maaaaaaan. -

It's all about the player, Nick. You get what you pay for. If you pay £5 for a shirt you get a shapeless, blue check horror. If you spend £40 you'll get a shirt that washes better, irons better and generally is better. I've yet to see anyone say 'we have to spend 35m'. I have however seen people saying 'we need to improve the squad with the money from Carroll'. Two completely seperate points which you've combined into one. -

I noticed that aswell. CT said he paid 1840 but the receipt states £1540. All hail Ashley and him giving something back to the fans ...- 10610 replies

Certainly seems to me that people think that it's better to use loads of money on shite than not to use loads of money. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=30371 I take it you havn't read ANY of the above posts. -

It's not about blasting all the cash on 1 or 2 superstars. All people want, I'd even include CT in this, is that we re-invest some of the 35m into a few players who can improve our squad. The way it's been pitched to us, by the club, is that we'll get 1 or 2 in. 1 or 2 Nickle-arse, 1 or 2. We were short on numbers last season and we'll be as short this. I'd love us to have 20m left on Sept 1st as long as some money is invested in a couple of defence unlockers and a Centre Half. That's all anyone is asking for. Improve the squad with the cash we have, if we have some left at the end of August then all the better. -

If Gejon won't eat his own plums, I don't see why you should take some punishment Will he have to take the CT route and post pictures? Who else was a non believer of your ST credentials, CT? Not me. Not for one second, mate. Nothing against CT who for some insane reason I don't mind that much, (Alreet, CT?) but in a way when it comes down to talking about NUFC he reminds me of a bloke who was canny enough but was a bit of a knacker and started going to games, home and away with us in the early nineties just to be part of the crowd. Instead of steering clear of making his football deficiencies clear he seemed to go out his way to appear knowledgeable and used to put stupid, outrageous views just for the sake of it. His nickname was simply, 'Knackas'. Anyway. He had a ST, in fact he had one when a couple of us didn't through a disagreement with the club, he thought this made him more of a 'fan'. He didn't have it for long and used to give it away the couple of seasons we didn't go. He couldn't tell you jack shit about anything pre-1992, no anecdotes or fuck all. Not saying CT is exactly the same, but what I'm saying is he did have a ST. All of this,- 10610 replies

Don't worry about it man. I'm not sure what's worse. Me getting it wrong and hanging myself out to dry, or CT clambering up into his loft, sweating uncontrollably, muttering away in a sea of red letters and the left shoes of previous victims....- 10610 replies
