I was at the game (unfortunately) and thought Debuchy looked a lot better, Anita by far was the best player in a Newcastle shirt. Whenever Ben Arfa got the ball there was no movement around him and ended up having to take shots because there was no one else looking to trouble the opposition. Cisse and Shola looked totally ineffective as a pairing and never should be played together again. Its shocking how Pardew can't see we need to go 4-3-3 to get the best out of everybody.

We shouldn't be rolling over for them, they've got a new manager and new players, so lets give them a decent game of it and not just let them go out and get an easy 3 points. Fuck it. We should just go for it, gan 4-3-3 with Gouffran, Cisse and Ben Arfa as the front 3. Nee point fannying about being defensive cos if we play for a draw we'll get beat. Barring the City game we couldn't have wished for an easier start to the season. If we don't get a striker in at least and start off poorly, then the hate for Kinnear and Ashley will shift firmly onto Pardew.

It got tiring watching us force the long ball through. We'd string a good few passes together only to then look for the long ball. I don't get why we cant keep a hold of it and be a bit more patient, especially when theyre not exactly probing long passes either.

Alot of teams seem to have brought in quite a few quality players. Soldado, Paulinho, Schurrle, Fer, Bony look like they could be the difference for their teams if given the chance. I know he was signed in January but Coutinho looks like he could be a player of the season contender too, he plays like Ben Arfa, only he keeps fit.

I read WBA are closest to signing him, but on a loan deal. I read it today, can't remember source, although I think it was on that BBC Transfer page thingymajjig and seemed pretty confident it would go through.

I think Pardew would have started Jonas anyway with it being against Man City.

If we go 4-4-2 it means that Jonas will definitely start and Cabaye will become anonymous in CM because of a lack of options around helping him, and the other team more than likely playing 3 CM's. Hopefully Pardew has learnt that from last season.
