Everything computer-related is a "file" for my mother. So she'll have an e-mail problem and tell you "I sent it from my file". Or "There's a picture in my file that I want to send." Inevitably, this degree of accuracy makes familial tech support an absolute joy.

I love how Slovenia generally didn't bother with the whole "let's decamp to the UK" thing after EU accession. What were the figures again? Something like 250,000 Poles, 70,000 Lithuanians, 50,000 Slovaks... and about 300 Slovenes. Talk about a snub.

The story from 'the palace' is that it was removed as it was interfering with her head scarf. She and Chuck are in Pakistan (visiting Aimaad22 perhaps?) so I guess the headscarf was for that reason i.e. muslim state. Respecting living forruners over plucky-but-dead British heroes? I went there for a day in '98, when we were in Budapest for the European Athletics. Canny place indeed, superb coffee and cakes, and it was nice to be somewhere where the language wasn't completely disorienting (even the way they insist on speaking it). Though my abiding memories remain the look I got from the sales assistant when I bought the Guildo Horn single and the flap-opening-out-onto-the-tracks toilet on the Romanian train back to Hungary.
