Parliament will be won over by the sheer crackingness of the deal.

Yep. This is the thing about the impact reports and the "see, the economy hasn't crashed yet!" sneering and all - the problem has never really been the short-term impact, it's always been about the long-term managed decline that we're voluntarily entering into. Quite aside from anything else, it's so desperately unambitious.

I suppose it's understandable given the physical toll of each match, but if your sport needs that much space for its players to recover, maybe it's... not actually all that ideal as a sport?

How long has the Rugby World Cup been going on, by the way? I know it's only been a few weeks but it feels like it's been months for a sport where the number of competent teams is barely in double figures.

Match postponed.

Does she... does she think a high horse is a good thing?

That's a scandalous claim. All he did was post it to the forum every time he was feeling wistful after one of his bong parties.

Of course you do.

Cheers for the heads-up - apparently there's a top-of-the-table clash between Lewisham Borough and FC Elmstead () at the local sports ground so I might well pop along. I've been to Dulwich Hamlet in years past but they're so mainstream nowadays.

This has always been the endgame, unfortunately. Blame the foreigners. If 52% were willing to vote leave, you can bet 52% will be willing to buy the "it's all their fault" narrative too.

It's a genius move.

Yeah but Cornish wine and pork pies. BELIEFE IN BRITAN

It's almost as if it was obvious all along that they were going to try and shift the blame onto the EU and hope the plebs are thick enough to buy it. Which they will be.

Whatever good they may or may not ultimately achieve, XR and Greta have turned out to be brilliant tools for quickly identifying the kind of people whose opinions on absolutely everything are safe to ignore.

Been enjoying Fosse/Verdon.

Interesting. He'll not win, of course, but it'll throw a spanner in the works for the Lib Dems who've been thinking they might spring a surprise by getting the second votes of Tories who aren't quite ready to jump ship yet. Rory will be a much easier second vote for them.

I don't know about you, but I narrowly missed being taken out by a sniper the last time I crossed the Channel.
