I remember the 1970 world cup and the great Brazil team with Pele as its star, 1974 is really vivid memory for me and Cruyff was the star man, I was on a school trip in Brittany and we had a field trip to some town or other, I played ill and went into the town to watch Holland and especially Cruyff play in the world cup on a tele in a cafe needless to say I got a bollocking and threatened to be sent home. Cruyff was absolutely brilliant great pace, vision, balance and a tad arrogant, not bad considering he was on 40 tabs a day!!

Is Krul one of the best keepers in the league?
BigAl replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
Started this season very well, hope he keeps on developing as a keeper but he needs a couple of quality seasons to be called one of the best keepers in the league, no doubting his potential. -
I don't know about the new entertainers but Silva is a joy to watch, absolute class, great balance, vision and always has time.

Love Barcelona!! We have used this site a few times for accommodation and they are really good. http://www.citysiesta.com/en/barcelona/apartments-for-rent/ As has been said watch out for pick pockets!! it is rife over there, saw a Spanish lady having her bag snatched and friends of ours had problems on the underground where a bunch of young girls were being friendly and one of the ladies spotted one of the girls taking a purse out of a bag.

I regard myself as being British, having been born in Gateshead with a Geordie father and a Glaswegian mother and growing up in Devon.

I think we look a bit Wiganesque!! and I can see this squad struggling next season. There is not a lot of steel in the squad and will the new guys fancy an away game at Stoke, Everton, Wolves etc. Do well to stay up unless there are major signings and Enrique and Barton stay.

My ring tone is from 3.32 when the horn section kicks in MASSSIVE!!!

Messi is a fantastic player and I think he will be up there with the best that have ever played the game. Maradona was a marvellous player who apart from 86 had some ordinary world cup campaigns, I think to be a true world all time great you have to take a world cup by storm, something that Messi has yet to do but given time and the right national team manager I think he will. If you truly love football you should enjoy watching Messi play the game.

Thanks he's a Large Munsterlander, they are related to the Long Haired German Pointer. He's well on the way to recovery which I am very hapy about, I don't mind admitting that I was in bits last week when I thought I was going to lose him. http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv318/t...ph/DSC_3531.jpg[/img][/img]

He is recovering still on anti-biotics for another week and then he will be back to normal.

There is anti-venom available for humans in the hospitals but they will not release it for animal use, which is fair enough I suppose, but when your dog gets bit it's a bit scary.
-
I live down in Devon in Sidmouth and he was bitten under his right hind leg near his groin!! They are at their most venomous at this time of year as they have just come out of hibernation.
-
I have got about 600 albums nearly all of them are late 70's funk and soul imports.
-
My dog got bitten by an adder the other day, he is over the worst but I was really worried to say the least. There is no anti-venom available for animals in this country (not for ordinary folks anyway) and they had to fly it in from Croatia!! Luckily he is a big, fit, young dog, if it had happened to a smaller dog I think it would of killed them. Thank god I am insured as the final bill will be in excess of £2000.

The first game that my Dad took me to was in 1969 v Sheffield Wednesday We won and I remember Bryan 'Pop" Robson scoring a couple of goals I can also remember going to Roker park in 1970 Jimmy Smith scored in a 1-1 draw, it was all kicking off and the fans were spilling onto the cinder track, we left through the players entrance as my Dad knew Lawrie McMenemy and he ushered us through, as we were waiting Joe Harvey came down the stairs and said hello to me! I was made up bearing in mind I was 9 years old.
