  1. Fuck me! I'm gonna be a dad in 6 weeks. I can't imagine what it'd be like for Mrs Paws if I went. Makes you think.....
  2. Of the 3 I'd say the Merc but then I nearly bought one. Settled for a BMW in the end. Given that you want something with a bit of kick to to it, I'd go for a 325 or a 330. BMW are excellent cars to run. I went for a more sedate 320d. Not as fast as I'd like but I do get 0 - 60 in less than 9s and ~50mpg. Next car will be a crossfire if I can afford it (might be a few years yet though )
  3. Er.......mmmm.......ahem.....wot constitutes a 'complete wanker'? Is it a question of number of strokes per second, changing hands without missing a stroke, or all of the above? Quality
  4. No That's it, any credibility I ever had or water any of my future posts may carry has just evaporated as a result of my previous post
  5. Stevie et al - chill out man! Whilst I respect people who have a good knowledge of NUFC it's not a pre-requisite for a supporter. I get the impression you have an issue with the younger supporters of today but don't tar them all with the same brush. Admittedly there are some muppets you wish would crawl back under a rock but they aren't all like that. I'm 30 and I wasn't immediately sure who he was. I have trouble remembering results of matches last season never mind players of 15+ years ago. You don't have to sleep under an NUFC duvet in your NUFC pyjamas, tightly clasping an NUFC almanac to your chest too call yourself a fan. I'd have more respect for you if you kept your posting to nufc matters where you clearly have in-depth knowledge and can form insightful remarks than ripping a hole in a fellow poster and supporter who can't remember a player from 15+ yrs ago. This place is meant to be relaxed and fun. Lets leave it at that and you all agree to agree to disagree eh?
  6. The Woman that got away - J J Cale. Another track I've never heard, but like (I've heard some of his other stuff like). Not bad to work late too. I recently re-discovered Pandora and may have to become an evangelist
  7. Beardy indeed. Eliminator was/is a class album like. Currently listening to a Neil Young track I've never heard before. I've spent the last couple of days on Pandora. It's quite eerily good actually. Give it a couple of bands and it comes up with some class stuff. I'm on my newly created 'Blues' station at the minute.
  8. More bollocks if you ask me. On top of that, with the investment already made MA would be daft to up sticks now. Football clubs are not like stocks and shares. You can't simply trade them every few months to make money. This is a long term investment and I believe (with no proof other than my own feelings) that MA is here for a while yet.
  9. I said pretty much that in a different thread a few weeks ago. Iirc it was suggested we got rid and made way for Krul if Harps didn't have the ambition. I disagreed. I think he's a valuable player for us. We have the luxury of a top 1st keeper and an extremely capable backup. I wish we played him a bit more, like in the European games maybe - which admittedly we have done a little.
  10. Cheers Tom. I decided to South Park myself. Mrs Paws thinks its a good likeness...... not sure if that is a good thing or not . Oh and btw it's 'Paws' man! Maggie makes me sound like a girl (and is also the name of my cat). My original name was taken when we had to re-register 2/3 database crashes back.
  11. More of a 'Smart' or 'Surface' blur. Fair enough. Looks canny whatever it is
  12. Yeah, quite like the effect on Smith there. Posterising (sp?) or something isn't it?
  13. I dual screen off my laptop.. The laptop display runs at 1280x800 and the desktop is 1400x900. Wide screen hi-res wallpapers would be great. Good stuff there Matt, as ever. Im finding it difficult to get excited about Owen at the minute though I think I need to see him in a few games before I make him my background. The Alan Smith one done earlier is good, stretches a bit on my monitor, but was a top effort Just thought when typing this message, aren't we becoming wallpaper snobs!
  14. Im sorry but, its LED ZEPPELIN FOR FUCKS SAKE. THE GREATEST BAND EVER! Tom. You're right like
  15. I reckon he nicked it off/was inspired by ELO - Mr Blue Sky We agree http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=368926 Glad I'm not the only one then Still a canny tune like. Not my thing, but I can't argue that they are not good at what they do. Currently listening to BB King and Eric Clapton - Riding with the King in the office. Very Chilled for 10:28 which is good as I already want to throw my laptop out the window and I've only been in 38mins.
  16. Not sure I can agree with that! Luque may well be soured by his stay at Newcastle and if so could have a bad influence on the new kid on the block. I think Solano would be much better for the new boy. Nobby may be from Peru but they both hablar espanol and Nobby knows all about settling in at Newcastle and living among the Geordies. I know what you mean and it's a valid point. I think he mentions nobby as well before singling out Luque. I think BS will have had a word with Luque about his time here and how maybe the club could have helped him settle better. Luque and Enrique are of not too dissimilar ages (bigger gap between him and Nobby) and are both Spanish. I'm sure Nobby will be involved but I think the job naturally falls to Luque. I'm hoping he hasn't been too soured by his time here. I think BS will have talked to him at length and the fact he's not up for sale tells me he's not beyond rescue. He seems to be having a canny pre season and he seems happier by all accounts.
  17. Luque looking after him is a good idea imo. It will hopefully mean he does not have to go through the same sort of settling in shock luque did. They can stick together and look after each other. Might even bring Luque out a bit.
  18. Indeed. A captain needs to lead by example as well and inspire those around him to perform. I honestly don't know who it should be. Will Geremi have the respect of the others even though he's only been there 5 mins? Training sessions between now and Bolton will decide I guess.
  19. £6.3mil. Not cheap for a defender but if the hype is to be believed he will be worth it. Time will tell.
  20. I think we might surprise ourselves. If BS can get us settled quickly I reckon we might do quite well. We have players at our club that haven't really played to their potential yet, Luque and Duff to name two. Getting one or two of those to start performing and it'll be like a new signing. If we get Owen back and provide him and our other strikers with the ball (something we could not do consistently last season) we will start getting the right results. If I'd answered this question 2/3 days ago I probably wouldn't have been as optimistic, but we've finally signed some canny looking defenders and some steely determination in midfield. So I guess it comes back to my first 'if'. If we can get settled, I think we might just sneak a place in Europe by some means. Top 8 finish and maybe a route to Europe either by placing or by a cup run.
  21. I reckon he nicked it off/was inspired by ELO - Mr Blue Sky
  22. I wonder if he waited until Dyer was sold before signing Smith as we already have a fair few midfielders. The defender money hasn't been touched at all. We've just bought a replacement attacking midfield body for Dyer. I dont see Smith replacing Dyer type for type, but it's a body swap and the midfield numbers are the same.
  23. Noel and Gem at the Lowry Dec 06 - Cast No Shadow. Chilled acoustic-ness
