  1. Poor refereeing there. Didn't book Harewood on Taylor and booked Butt on Harewood. Harewood made a meal of Butt's slide.
  2. replay's show he slipped as he was halfway down. would have got it otherwise
  3. Much better from us. We're starting to play with some confidence. Watching the setanta ports news with 'special one' puppet. haha
  4. They have a huge fan base here in Australia. A mate from Melbourne that plays drums for a number of local bands raves about them. Swervedriver podcast from the dark stuff. http://thedarkstuff.podomatic.com/ Thanks for the link, although I'm not sure what it has to do with Airbourne I've listened to the album about 5/6 times now and I'm definitely liking it. I believe they did the 25th anniversary of Bon Scotts death recently and did it well. You can't get their EP over here though, which is a shame. Nothing, it's what I was listening to, the point of the thread. Now I'm listening to swervedriver - juggernaut's ride disc 1 Back to airbourne, ready to rock is impossible to get anywhere. Keep an eye on ebay or places like www.redeye.com.au if you really want it. Ah, my mistake. That went over my head - Guess that's what happens when you try to do too many things at once Gone form Hard Rock to Southern Rock (definitely coding my nuts off now) Black Crowes -Live soon to be followed by a couple off the 'Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes - Live at the Greek'

  6. Another new discovery: Airbourne - A new Aussie rock band. Large double shot of AC/DC, tblspoon of 80's Metal and maybe a dash of Aerosmith. Shake it up and serve loud in either speakers or headphones. A little clichéd but definitely palatable. They play in Manchester tomorrow night and I can't get a ticket.
  7. A couple of tracks I've found on youtube of The Stone Gods - the new band of some of the ex members of The Darkness. Liking it. Listening to an acoustic track and a proper rock track. If this is anything to go by they look to be versatile and should be more seriously taken than The Darkness. Dan is class
  8. x1 x1 < +1 Mathstastic! To be fair like, Asprilla's right. x 1 with not increase the number of agreements. 1 x 1 =1 so if 2 people have already agreed the agreement count is 2. With me so far? Therefore: If someone adds x1 to a post indicating their agreement with the aforementioned post, 2 x 1 = 2. So the agreement count does not increase. However: If someone adds +1 to a post indicating their agreement with the aforementioned post, 2+1 = 3 and thus the agreement count has increased. Just thought I'd clear that up
  9. Oh and extending Martin's contract and upping his pay to 90k is a joke. Not one I believe the club is doing either.aper bollocks. I wonder you know, do the southern press sit there and laugh their tits off at the fact that they can print such bollocks; knowing that a % of people will believe it and it will send them into a frenzy?

  11. Looked canny when he first arrived but like the rest of the team went downhill as the season progressed. IMO not a CM but needs a fresh start under Keegan at CB before I write him off. I think a number of players need some time under Keegan to play the sort of stuff we have seen them play (Duff is a great example). If they can't do it under new, more attack-minded direction then we bin them off. In the case of Barton however, we get him playing well (he showed at City he was capable) then flog him at the first opportunity. We should sell him too
  12. I was wondering what had happened as everyone around me was looking back and up at the stand as if something had been going on. I thought it was worth stickign Rozenhal there as he'splayed there often enough in France but he wasted the ball pretty much the whole game barring one excellent pass out wide, but Keegan wasn't left with much else available. Agree Shola was a waste of time today, offered nothing really except his usual scuffed shot when in a decent position and i thought he should have been subbed not long into the secodn half. Bolton came, put 10 men behind the ball and spoiled the game from the first moment, but they had to really and it was up to us to break them down and we never managed it sadly. And the ref as usual unlike fans up and down the country doesnt seem to realise Kevin Davies entire game is to back into you then dive and yet he gets a stream of freekicks for it. Also the fact they left their foot in after the ball was gone on nearly every tackle seemed to pass him by. And i'd love him to explain how 5 substitutions (30 secs have to be added for each sub) and 3 of their players at least going down "injured" equates to 2 mins added time. But it was our fault we didn't win, i don't think their keeper made one save to be honest. And i'm sick of seeing us give teams like Bolton the ball back when they do this shit. They aren't injured, they're cheating to waste time so keep the fucking ball and stick it in the back of their net and see how many more of the arseholes feign injury after that. I'd go with that. :
  13. Since typing my reply I've just read @yourservices quote from Keegan. I hadn't seen it before - honest.
  14. Reading Noelie's post I think he's made some good points. However, I thought Duff showed some good stuff tonight and wasn't as bad as some have made out. Although on the whole I completely agree he's not yet good enough. We were missing 7 first team players tonight. I'd have had Beye on for Carr, Faye on for either Roz or Taylor (neither Roz or Carr can hit a shot), Smith on for the Ameoba, Butt in CM where we were losing it and Martins would have been a useful sub. Based on that I'm not horrifically disappointed with the draw. Before someone leaps down my throat, I know we should be winning our home games (especially against Bolton). But given the team we were able to put out and the recent shenanigans at the club, coupled with the fact the Bolton came here to defend - a draw was not disastrous. I agree with the posts about showing Keegan what we are. I would add to that though, this is what these players are currently like. I expect to see an improvement in several of them as a result of Keegan's influence. Naturally I would have preferred 3 points tonight, but I thought Bolton defended well and we wasted the chances we had. Carr spooned two, at one point Roz had had more chances than Owen and screwed them all. Our final ball wasn't good enough and we lost it too many times - particularly in midfield; but in the 2nd half we showed genuine improvement and actually attacked the game. Still, we looked more like a team wanting to play football, so there is hope for us yet. Bring it on
  15. No mate you misunderstand. I'm not saying I'm giving Shola another chance. What I meant was the Shola will view it as such (if he has any sense of course). BSA froze him out whereas now he has a chance to get back into the fray under a new manager. For the record, I am not a fan of his at all. He's scored some important goals for us in the past but the Law of Averages would show that is possible.
  16. Had he not been sent off I'd have said Smith personally. For me , he's not played enough games as a striker for me to buy into the 'he's shit' argument. I think Smith's biggest downfall is that he doesn't complain and just gets on with the task he's given. If he adopted the Dyer approach for instance he'd have spit his dummy well out and refused to play by now As has been said numerous times before, a midfielder player he is not, but he's shown promise up front and I think with a regular slot could work well with Owen imo For todays game though I'd go with Shola. He'll be ready to take someone apart I reckon after his exile. New manager, new opportunity. Nailed on hattrick [/delusion]
  17. excellent cheers Aye, nice one jimbo.
  18. Amen to that. The concern is that the enthusiasm and euphoria is built on some sort of misguided belief that we will suddenly start doing that, so that when we inevitably don't, it will then wain. My take on it in all honesty is to see that Kev is here on some sort of humanitarian mission to restore the faith and give us hope and promise. Beyond that though and we need a more sophisticated strategy for the future management. I for one am not one of the apparent hordes (media creation???) that absolutely delights in 4-3 losses. It hurts to fuck tbh and I want to see some silverware in my lifetime. Totally agree, including an earlier one of JawD's posts. I don't expect to win the league under KK. If he can turn us into an attractive, attack minded, match winning side with self belief and a helping of balls then he will have done his job. He will have turned the team/club into an attractive prospect for someone who can take us to that next level. Logic (and history) tells us that a second bite of the cherry is never as good as the first; but then, when does NUFC ever follow logic?
  19. I reckon we're about to be linked with everyone and his granny. A billionnaire owner and a new manager with a penchant for attacking football. Let the madness begin
  20. Until you get onto 'Hard' then it gets frustrating as f**k. You know how to play the song, but can you bollocks make your little finger do shit with that orange button. It's a good game though - dont get me wrong. The wireless guitar made it sooooo much better. Missing a 'freebird' though Even flow One of my favorites from the game but not in the same league as Freebird. Cliffs of Dover is a canny one too. I've been known to dance whilst playing that one - pissed of course. In my earlier post I should have written Blue button, not orange. That was the alcohol last night I reckon Wait, weren't you right with orange? I'm going off memory here but isn't it (from index to pinky): green, red, yellow, blue, orange? I've completed it on easy (all five stars), and finished it on medium (still attempting five stars) but I'm hopeless on hard because the fifth button completely throws me off. I don't play the guitar, though, I'm sure that's a disadvantage... Yeah, just checked and the last button is orange so I was right first time. Either way, since they introduce that little fecker on hard everything is significantly more difficult. Even the chords are harder. I failed my first song in the whole game when I got to hard. I used to play guitar (I still do occasionally but I'm very rusty). In one respect I think this helps, but I also think it hinders. For example, on a song I know well I find myself playing the guitar part rather than the notes in front of me and I sometimes change when I don't need too. Still regardless of whether you can play or not, GH3 is the only way us mortals could share the same stage with Slash in a face off and win Sad? - possibly Do I really give a fuck? - not likely. We have a ps3 in the office and at the Xmas party we all had a blast. Much fun ensued and after a few cablecars I took on Slash. Naturally I had to play a solo with the guitar pointed vertical and slung down by my knees - it wouldn't be right otherwise would it?
  21. Fish, My brothers 360 has just succumbed to the RRoD. His is out of warranty and he was told to ring microsoft. Apparently they have extended the warranty to 3 yrs for certain things. If your xbox has the RRoD, you can get it fixed for nowt. I think they know the age of your 360 by the serial no. Wor kid reckons his will be away for about 3weeks. They replace the mobo etc and return it to you FOC. His was picked up by DHL earlier this week and sent down to Havant no less. I hope the engineer working on his 360 isn't a havant fan, christ knows what a pissed up technician can do with a bolloxed console Just a heads up
