  1. Theres no one in our squad capable of that anymore. Such a shame.
  2. How well do predictions from the start of the season hold up? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/28/pre-season-predictions-premier-league Check out our old pal Louise Taylors efforts
  3. I think I mentioned both but then I also mentinend Demba Ba so you know...
  4. I hear John Gregory is back in decent health.
  5. Was he allowed to train with them at all during his exile?
  6. Aren't they redrafting the mission statement?
  7. Hope for the best, plan for the worst and all that.
  8. Player of the Season (can be talent or performances I suppose?) - Janmaat, the absolute coward has looked more and more assured as the season went on, was hugely important as ab attacking force and when he moved to CB when we needed him to, looking like our best CB when he did so. His composure on the ball, playing out from the back or on the cross (only player we have who can consistently deliver a decent cross) has been a rare bright spot. Worst player of the Season - Gouffran. A lot of contenders for this, Sissoko could have been it but the fact is hes harshly judged as hes capable of being much better than we see most of the time and has actually had some good games. Gouffran has been ruined by this club, a supposed Jonas replacement who is considerably less capable than Jonas is (even after having cancer) has been caught in possession so often this season, regularly leading to us conceding. Best Moment - Jonas' goal v West Ham, one of a small number of people at the club I still respect and like. Delighted that he got the goal that kept us up, no other player we have deserves to be remembered in such a positive way. Worst Moment - The close of the January window. no investment, Carver in charge. pure feeling of hopelessness. Best Goal - Best Game - Maybe West Ham, though it might be the fact its so recent that has me thinking it. Other than that I reckon Chelsea just because I expected us to get murdered. Worst Game - I honestly can't pick one. Obviously the derby losses are shite but we've been so crap so often this season. Worst Pardew quote - "That ones for mike" I don't care if that wasn't this season. its always this. Worst Carver quote - "best coach in the league"
  9. I think he's shown that when he's fit hes still capable of being a good goalscorer, I think he'd work quite well with Cabella and Perez around him too. He'd definitely be better at attacking that floated ball to the back post than Williamson moot since we definitely won't sign him anyway and he IS always injured so won't get a run of games long enough to be worth having
  10. We're already back to being linked with resigning Andy Carroll honestly plucking any random french blokes name off whoscored would sound more credible at this point.
  11. nice I'm in the same camp as you tbh, I think he's surely got to go, if any of his opponents have any nouse they'll be able to get him gone off the back of this, provided the election is postponed, if its not he'll get re-elected. UEFA should just sack FIFA off tbh, they've enough power/finance within the ranks to just run without them surely. Wouldn't take long for FIFA to crumble without the big clubs and no european national sides. They probably wouldn't even miss a world cup.
  12. Really interesting long read from the guardian today http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/28/the-prison-where-murderers-play-for-manchester-united
  13. How can he possibly do it though? This either makes him look like he has no insight/control over the people working under him, including the fifa exco or that hes complicit. Either way thats not someone who can remain in power once the shit actually hits the fan and stuff like this happens.
  14. Just a way to make it look like hes in control if no one wants to offer him a job. I think most PL clubs know that if they appoint him they're getting a manager that is not capable of keeping fans happy for a long time, once the ceiling of ambition/resources is reached league position wise he isn't capable of making it entertaining enough to keep people content.
  15. Blatter has to go though right? Surely now... Heard his daughter on the radio this morning, apparently the world of football will only realise whats hes done for it when hes gone and hindsight will show him to be a great man. I think she's right on that first point, only after he goes will what hes done become clear.
  16. Ha! It will be won't it? Perfect match.
  17. Turns out Mrs Advocaat didn't fancy it. Sunderland now also looking for a manager. Here's hoping they don't make as smart an appointment as DA this time.
  18. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/27/ibrahimovic-ghostwriter-admits-inventing-quotes-in-i-am-zlatan This bloke sounds like an absolute whopper.
  19. You've got a real thing going with the umbrella there Noelie. Whats so bad about them?
