Would have probably gone for some, but funds are being ploughed in to bathrooms and new windows.

Aren't TfL given about £7b in subsidies by the government every year, which they recognise as revenue? That would account for the profit.

Link is the wrong way round. A rampant, growing economy helps boost the housing market. The biggest driver of growth in house prices is a growing economy, not the other way round.
-
Progress on from Economics 101 and specifically focus on the economics of the housing market, which is a very different beast. House prices are very much a local phenomenon, influenced by local factors (local wages, local crime levels, local demand). They don't generally build houses on a whim and hope they'll sell. They research the local area and ensure there's enough interest for them to make it a profitable venture. Building 100 houses at the end of your street brings more people into the area, which justifies spending on local transport, local infrastructure and makes it more likely that big supermarkets etc will set up nearby. All of these factors then make living in your street more desirable and push the house prices up in the long run. On top of this, a batch of brand new houses improves the general standard and upkeep in the area, meaning the place is looked upon more favourably by those moving into the area. Given that new houses are almost always priced above market rates, this makes your older house more attractive and maintains your price. The only way building new houses would hurt the value of yours would be if they build in an area where there is no demand for any more houses - unlikely, given that the house builder is answerable to shareholders who would question why they'd built in a site which offers no returns.

Remy picked up a knock and was blowing out of his arse for the 10-15 minutes before he came off.

Don't think we were as bad as some are suggesting in the second half. For all of the pressure, Cardiff struggled to create any meaningful chances. With better finishing, we could have put it to bed on the counter attack a couple of times.

If you want something for tonight, try: http://www.mamtaskitchen.com/ I can't really vouch for any recipe in particular, but I've done a couple off there and they've both turned out well (not as well as the recipes in the books above though)

Get yourself this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Sisters-Indian-Cookbook-Delicious/dp/0857200275 And this book: http://baltibook.wordpress.com/ The first one has the quicker recipes. The second one contains recipes which are restaurant style baltis. However, to get the most out of it, you're best making enough base sauce for 10-15 portions (which you can freeze afterwards). It's a long, involved process, but it's good fun, and the results are tremendous. The street chicken recipe in the first book is particularly good.

Actually, I agreed with your post. Most of the stuff before that was barely even opinion, it was largely ignorance-driven over-reacting.

My god, there's some shite in this thread

Stick Tiote in to patrol in front of the back four, and I reckon our defence would look a hell of a lot better.

Aye, baking it makes sense, as it's gentle consistent heat. It's amazing how many people think rice is just something you whack in a pan and boil to fuck. I have a mate who claims to "love" rice, yet his fare ranges from crunchy under-done grains right up to mashed rice. It's piss easy to make, but piss easy to mess it up if you don't think about what you're doing.
-
It doesn't. Give it a wash and a massage before you cook it (until the water runs pretty clear). Drain the rice, whack it in the pan with a bit of salt, a drop of vegetable oil and anything else you want, such as cinammon stick, fenugreek seeds, star anise, saffron, cardamom pods - basically whatever flavour you want it to take on. Pour on some freshly boiled water from the kettle, enough to just cover the rice. Bring the pan to the verge of boiling, then stick on the on the pan (I like to use aluminium foil under the pan lid to create a proper tight seal). Turn the heat down as low as it will go, then leave it for 12-15 minutes. Take off the heat and leave, without taking the lid off, for a further 5-10 minutes. No washing needed, just perfect fluffy, individually grained rice. You might need to experiment with the amount of water and how long you leave on the heat, but once you have a method that works for your pans and hob, you're laughing.

Haidara's played about three games for us man. How anyone can confidently assess that he's the answer to our problems us beyond me.

An NUFC season ticket is an NUFC related item, surely?

Finished. Cracking result.

Hang on a minute. Are we taking the word of a disgruntled player as gospel here? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't NUFC and OL agree a deal, only for Gomis' agent to demand an extra £1.5m? OL refused to pay this and NUFC correctly (in my eyes) also refused. Gomis also refused to budge, so the deal didn't happen. Gomis needs to look at his representative (you know, the guy who is meant to be acting in his client's best interests!) before pointing the finger at NUFC.

He was barely on the wage bill - he was likely earning very little. He was brought in on the off chance he would come good. It didn't work out, so we've parted company. Happens every season at every club with loads of players.
