Heard some of those Platini comments last night on SSN and couldn't help but laugh. Intrigued to see who they bring in to replace him. Assuming he'll be gone in January, I can't see who they could bring in during that month to replace a player of his stature. Either way they'd be cup-tied in Europe. He's just one player so they shouldn't write their season off but it's still a massive blow to them. Ah well.

Hodgson will out of a job in the next few days, they'll get a better man in, they'll get rid of a few (some really average players in their team) and make a big signing or two during the next window. Top 8 finish and wholesale changes in the Summer. Will finish in the top 4 next season. So yeah, I hope Hodgson stays a while. Even I can and do laugh at Liverpool these days. To be fair we brought Best and Routledge in when we were still facing several more months of the Championship. They didn't cost a great deal, had Championship pedigree and Routledge at least did a good job for us when we he came in. They're not Premier League quality though. Perch was and is a mistake, simple as. We went for him in January when we needed the cover and his signing would have made more sense then. You get the impression Hughton didn't really think this one through. With that said he wasn't a risk financially so I can understand him being given a chance. Hasn't done a good enough job though and really shouldn't be playing for us.
