  1. Honestly I don't think councils are structurally fit for purpose anyway so it's more of a symbolic thing. I wouldn't vote Tory at a local council election because it suggests that my vote condones all manner of fucking nonsense that is happening at the national level. It's the same reason I won't vote Labour nationally until they move back to a pro-EU stance, if they ever do.
  2. Just read an article about Pogba and the shame it is that his peak years were wasted by incompetence at Man Utd. Apparently he's leaving in the summer as he's rejected their contract offer - is he one of those players who needs to be played properly to get the best out of, and could thus do a job for us - or is he a busted flush? I get the impression from what is being said that money would probably convince him to join us if it came to it. Not particularly saying we even need him mind.
  3. She wants to be careful not to wear a skirt by the sound of it.
  4. Anti vaxxers. climate change deniers, holocaust deniers, racists, homophobes, transphobes, misogynists, liars, and purveyors of "common sense".. come one, come all. Twitter is now yours. Your feelings (of inadequacy) don't care about our facts, amirite? The self proclaimed Elven Technocrat and all round megacunt Elon Musk has saved you all!
  5. Mind, if we somehow do get relegated now there'll be no living with him
  6. Lap of honour on game 14 by players and staff to crown this achievement. Visiting Leicester City players look on with bemusement, joined by the rest of the country.
  7. I mean tbf, there's a context that matters here. It's not like City celebrated or were even aware whenever it was that they became mathematically certain not to go down. The whole league starts the season in a relegation battle in CT's eyes, clearly
  8. I'd prefer us to have a decent showing against Arsenal anyway - the team does deserve appreciation for the season and I feel like doing it off the back of a 4-0 battering would take away from it a bit.
  9. I know, I'm really just saying this fairytale moment can't actually happen anyway
  10. Can we clinch safety then anyway? We'd move to 15 points clear of Burnley but they have 5 games left. Granted they play Saturday too but it's after our game, and against Watford.
  11. I was thinking about this earlier - if Le Pen is "far right" then surely the Tories are as well. Which policies does she have that are further to the right of the Tories? She's not even extreme enough to go for Frexit.
  12. We won't play like Everton are though, we'll be more open.
  13. I reckon Everton get 9 points if they're really in gear, from their remaining games. Some easier ones in there, Brentford, Palace and Watford albeit away. Burnley have Watford, Villa home and away, and us of the "winnable" variety. I include us mostly because we might want them to beat us I reckon they get 3, 3, 1 from the first 3 which puts them level with Everton going into the final game. Could well come down to our game.
  14. 86% possession to Liverpool??? Are Everton doing a 90 min bus parking exercise
  15. Watch Everton get their first win at Anfield in about half a century and send CT fully over the edge
  16. I do think charging up local councils from time to time is a good idea but ffs, there are other options. You don't need to drop your knickers to the Tories every time anything remotely annoying happens with Labour.
  17. I actually wondered if we might be if all games played out with teams beneath us playing each other but no, even then it's just possible for Burnley to slither past us if literally every result went their way for the rest of the season
  18. For all this bluster about how we aren't very good, how they have outperformed us against Cambridge this season (a universal metric for success as we all know)... imagine if we proposed a 'put your money where you mouth is' friendly against them over the summer. They'd be shitting bricks man. They'd resist it in every possible way, try to weasel out of it being meaningful, complain and bitch about how it doesn't count because it's not in the league, etc. Then the day would come, we'd stick 5 past them without getting out of second gear, and it would officially become 'the worst day in the history of their club' up until a few weeks later when they lose 3-0 at home to Fleetwood in their 5th season in League One.

    Eddie Howe

Good spread of opinions there tbh.
  20. Awesome. I love how connected the club is to itself again. Just goes to show how sincere and genuine the feeling about the team is. Ashley managed to smother it for a decade and a half but thank fuck even he wasn't able to kill it.
  21. So the guardian reported that they were done but i went and had a look at Oldham's forum (about 5 members total) and it looks like the fans staged a pitch invasion when the inevitable became clear and had the game abandoned. They may have temporarily prevented relegation Seems a bit uncertain as to exactly what the position on it is officially, but obviously they're down either way now. Points deduction or the game declared as a loss.
  22. Oldham have been relegated to the 5th tier.. first team to have ever played in both the PL and the conference.
  23. This has been fucking awesome man Apparently we can still finish above Man Utd..!
