  1. Yeah not a bad shout tbh. I'll sort that a bit later.
  2. Looks like we got everyone other than Dave. 27 members onboarded so far, not bad.
  3. For me it's not even the slippery slope, though that is a completely valid point. It just offends my sense of humanity even for legit offenders. It's like throwing in the towel on trying to better society and resorting to draconian and brutal methods in order to spare us from doing the hard yards to make society better. It's like saying "Some people are just born bad and it's not in our power to do anything about it". It's a very right wing view in my eyes, that 'evil' is something that just exists and that we don't need to understand why or address any of the underlying causes. Just put a bullet in it and write them off. It's that kind of vibe.
  4. Amorim has yelled at Garnacho at training in front of the entire squad, and told him to find a new club Meanwhile Fernandes is apparently open to moving to Saudi.
  5. Why are we incapable of removing psychopaths from control of our nations? All of them.
  6. The sacrifices Andrew makes for this place man Forum hero.
  7. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/05/22/europe/uk-chemical-castration-sex-offenders-latam-intl Labour now considering implementing mandatory castrations for sex offenders. To me this lands as bordering on 'far right' so I'm completely horrified, but I'm curious what others think. I've always had a very progressive outlook on rehabilitation and justice. How long before ECHR. How long before death penalties.
  8. Can someone explain to me how things are ever going to get better if we don't dig our heels in and force that utter fuckwit to actually earn our votes?
  9. We will beat Everton if we have to beat Everton. Nothing has changed, we're looking at 5th on GD most likely.
  10. Hard to see him staying leader like this tbh. Can I ask, for those of us old enough to remember New Labour in the 90s, was it like this?
  11. I do think that's a good article indeed - and I think it's part of this overall problem in the debate around this. That article represents the spirit of what Labour should be saying in this debate. Sure, bring the numbers down, close these fake schools which people are using to take advantage of the system, fine - but even as you do so, approach it while adhering to the spirit of this article. People urgently need to understand the other side of this debate and there is absolutely no voice for it. That article speaks to just a subjective appreciation for the most part and doesn't directly look at the fundamental economic truths around our need of these people, but those realities are also relevant. As with Brexit, a huge number of people in this country simply refuse to believe or accept any of the downsides or negatives around their opinions on these issues, we are dangerously poorly informed as voters - and in fairness to Reform, that's not their fault. They're a single issue pressure group masquerading as a political party, we should not be expecting them to come out with the arguments against their single issue. We should however be expecting Labour to do so, in the spirit of that article, with additional facts, figures and evidence. To do this though, it would involve Labour also being able to point the finger at other aspects of society that are instead causing the problems we are struggling with (Brexit, private landlords, Brexit, a complete lack of government willingness to build new homes at anything like an appropriate rate, Brexit). They are simply not prepared to have these conversations, and as such have nothing to offer in place of holding up immigrants as the scapegoat. I was stunned to read that letter Starmer penned a few years ago which the Tories were holding up as evidence of his insincerity around the issue, specifically because it would be unthinkable for him to say anything like that now. But I went back and looked at opinions on immigration 2022 and the UK was 70% in favour. We're now at 52% against. Part of that flip is Reform, but a big part of it is also Labour's complete surrender and retreat.
  12. I like that one. That's probably the best one I've seen so far. Make it happen, Craig!
  13. At first glance it looks like a tough one, but then you get into thinking about it a bit and it's really just between Slot or Howe. Slot's credentials being the title win and the fact that he managed it in season 1. Howe on the other hand has almost secured CL football and won a trophy. Might have considered Nuno if they hadn't blown CL.
  14. Agree with all of that. I suppose I have just internalised this sense of 'if I'm not going to do anything about it, I have to force myself to watch' so that it's burned onto my soul in some form. Fucking Catholic upbringing. You're right though, and I don't go looking for the stuff, but I suppose the algorithms feed it now.
  15. Thanks for the explainer I honestly don't get why the offside decision has been dragged into this then, any number of random events could have spared him this outcome. But hey ho, at least I understand now. Lot more physics involved than I imagined based on your post.
  16. The number of absolutely harrowing videos I see every day on reddit now about Israeli atrocities is starting to make me think I'm genuinely a bad person for doing nothing about it.
  17. I've struggled to follow this a bit but.. is the argument here that the offside ruling is to blame because a player ran into a goalpost, on the basis that had the whistle gone, that never would have happened? Surely the same thing would have happened if he was onside as well, meaning that the offside call is fairly irrelevant. What am I missing?

Principles are principles Although I never used Twitter anyway so it's hardly been a sacrifice for me.
  19. It does feel low but I can see the arguments otherwise. I still feel a bit badly for Longstaff but this is absolutely going to be the right move for him too. Can someone give me a steer on which of our main midfielders Miley is cover for? I'm just wondering where the sale of Longstaff leaves us short.

Can those links not be ported into one of the thread unroller sites and distributed via those? I appreciate it still ultimately needs someone to click it but after that the clicks go to the middleman site unless I'm interpreting it incorrectly. I tend to use them whenever I have to view a twitter thread these days since you can't view those without an account, but it seems to work for just solitary tweets as well.
  21. Today in PMQs: Farage We at Reform, a party that is alive and kicking, very much enjoyed your speech on Monday, you seem to be learning a very great deal from us. Could I encourage you please to go further, as a matter of national security? Over the weekend, an illegal immigrant from Iran, who we believe came by boat, was arrested in the north of England on serious charges of terrorism. Since the speech on Monday, 1,000 young, undocumented young males have crossed the English Channel. Does the prime minister agree, now is the time to declare the situation in the English Channel as a national security emergency? Starmer The situation is serious, the last government lost control of the borders. The [border security, asylum and immigration) bill is the first bill to give terrorism-like powers to law enforcement, precisely so that we can get in before the crimes are committed, before people get to this country. This is the most far-reaching provision ever for law enforcement to defend and secure our borders, and that’s why it is extraordinary that he, of all people, voted against it. This is going to be the dialogue for the next 4 years I suspect.
  22. Maybe I'm misremembering what he was responsible for then. I thought he was pretty much the man behind most of our first team buys. If he wasn't, then yes my view of him changes quite a bit.
  23. I don't agree. Immigration is a great example. Most people who want immigration to go down understand only one side of that issue. They do not understand for instance that social care will be decimated, that pensions will be threatened, that certain sectors will struggle with impacts felt throughout the economy. Most of them don't even understand that immigration is a net positive on the economy. People sort of drift through life thinking that governments make these choices out of some Marxist agenda, whereas in reality the choice to permit immigration is a response to an economic need. I am yet to see an anti immigration voter properly contend with both sides of that issue, and thats what I mean when I say people don't understand these issues as fully as they'd need to in order to make an informed decision. I debate with the fuckers day in, day out. I can see it.
  24. Am I alone in thinking that for all he's a bastard, he was actually pretty good?
