Lived there for 5 years and go back about twice a year, love it there but Glasgow is more interesting imo. You have had some good advice already tbh, I lived behind the st James shopping centre in new town, morningside and marchmont but that was proper studenty and I don't know if that is your bag. Morningside is nice and quiet and the new town area in general was quite expensive.

Posted a few weeks ago about a management course I've been put on at work. Next weekend away is coming up and we have been sent some homework to "bullet point your life". I am dreading the heartfelt shite already, there is 3 blokes out of 12 people. The last time we have "our proudest moments" 5/9 girls was giving birth (commence crying), one was coming out as a lesbian (fair enough) and the other was losing about 7 stone (she has put it back on). How do I go about bullet pointing my life without it being, born, school, college, work, uni, work, now? Apologies in advance but I have some stupid questions, I have rented since I left home at 18 and my parents are no use in financial matters. I have a decent amount for a deposit and my lease is up in March next year, I am looking at buying then or if needs must rent for another year max. How do I get a mortgage? Do I just go into the lender who looks like they offer what I want and ask? Does where I bank make a difference? Can I get a mortgage in place without a specific place to buy or do I have to find the gaff first and then find a mortgage.
