  1. Couldn't see Red Ken as PM either tbh. CT's tory love in is getting beyond a joke now like.
  2. You laugh, but thats his long term goal and I would certainly not bet against him. He plays the buffoon very well but is also a very clever bloke and is well liked by a wide range of people. And you think the British public would accept a buffoon as PM? I hope not. Last time he was on QT he was embarassing, struggled to make any sense at all, like he was drunk or something. You seem to forget the good people of London voted him in. Whether or not his own party would make him leader is a different question all together. If they did I would say he would get voted in. You should watch that programme I referred too. As well as being an eye opener it was quite entertaining. I wasn't forgetting that at all. The mayoral job is however completely different, and Londoners' voting habits do not reflect that of the UK as a whole. The program your referring to was docudrama wasn't it so can be taken with a pinch of salt - I'd still watch it for entertainment purposes mind. His performance on QT was fact though - the worst I have ever witnessed, seriously.
  3. 29 if its still available. Just got Algeria at work. Three quid down the drain.

  5. Twelve innocent people and one cunt dead. 25 injured. Jeepers.
  6. To get away with something as crass as that the joke actually has to be funny.
  7. Mother alive and well according to Five Live.
  8. Build her up to blackmail her in the future over notwashinghandsgate.
  9. I was thinking of that, remember being worried about my folks at the time, think he only actually killed one poor bugger though. Then there was Hungerford and that evil cunt in Scotland which was the worst ever. Although incredibly rare we need to get as many guns off the streets as possible.
  10. Had it on the radio on the background, missed the name but I thought I recognised her voice.
  11. She made Cameron look quite bad actually, he clearly hadn't bothered doing his homework regarding her question (Something to do with Nissan grants). It takes years for some new MPs to ask PMQs so yeah, quite impressive, she seems to be on the fast track.
  12. Unless I imagined it Bridget just asked Cameron a question on PMQs. He ducked it.
  13. We had a canny side but all those teams were better than us I agree. Better than now imo. Our best chance of a major trophy was Euro 96 which we really should have won. Our next best chance will again be at home if we get some new talent through and win the bid imo. But when Milner is being hailed as one of our best up and coming players you've got to worry.
  14. One thing that always bugs me about England is this attitude if X hadn't happened we would have won it. Take the Beckham incident in 1998. People claim we would have won it had it not been for that one foul, and therefore burnt effigies etc. But iirc Argentina were then knocked out by Holland, who were knocked out by Brazil, who lost heavily in the final to France. We had no chance.
  15. Stick to making tablets pal. Well, you've mentioned Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Rio, and Ashley Cole. All established players who have failed at the top level in the past. Where's the new talent, where's the fresh hope? I just don't see it personally, the defence is poor (what about the keeper), the midfield doesn't really gel, and without Rooney England are piss weak up front.
  16. With the exception of a few key players I think this is the most mediocre England side in a while. If anything happens to Rooney England are fucked. The defence and goal keepers in particular wouldn't inspire me with confidence either. Yes, England have a great manager, but that won't make up for the deficits on the pitch imo. Expect the usual hype and disappointment, I'm just looking forward to seeing some good games no matter who's playing.
  17. Gemmill's gaydar has got a lock on.
  18. haha, I was the same when we got Sky+ HD. I just spent a day watching Bio HD. My Sky HD is fucked and I'm getting that fixed tomorrow as well. BTW if anyone is within driving/pick up distance of Chelmsford and fancies a 3 year Philips 42" 1080i LCD going cheap, drop me a PM. Your old one sounds like a fuck off TV. I'm content with my 28 inch Panasonic CRT!
  19. The show caused major congestion yesterday afternoon on the A69 between Hexham and Corbidge. Filthy farmer fuckers.
  20. Lovely walk around Buttermere at the weekend - Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks, High Crag, High Stile, and Red Pike. Then a relaxing stroll on Catbells yesterday. I think I may need a knee transplant.
  21. Do you own a motorhome CT? There's a place where you can rent them to tour Scotland but unfortunately I'll never persuade Mrs R to slum it in anything less than a 4 star hotel. Must admit, I wouldn't fancy driving it either. But the freedom would be ace. Have you got a link Rents? Sounds like something that would be right up my street. Haven't got any specific recommendations but just google motorhomes Scotland. There was an article about it in Trail magazine a few months ago but I've chucked it since. Let me know if you give it a try.
  22. Got a horrible feeling of depression I always get at work after a lovely bank holiday in the Lakes. Not made any better by the facy I have a 3 hour written exam on Thursday. Need to motivate myself to do some revision pronto.
  23. This is because it turned out to be not a particularly virulent virus. If it had been virulent, the vaccine uptake would have been much greater. I wouldn't particularly want a sore arm when it became apparent the risks were very small. This doesn't mean the disease was manufactured for the benefit of the Pharmaceutical companies though. You see, that's an example of a logical fallacy - point 5. Btw, you keep banging on about Poland. Could they even afford the vaccine? I doubt it. Another logical fallacy. It's the fastest growing economy in Europe with the lowest debt you dope. Jesus Parky, this sounds like our discussion on India a few days back. Its rate of growth and level of debt are irrelevant, its present (or rather, last years) GDP and healthcare expenditure is what matters. I can't be arsed right now, but why don't you look that up and compare it to the UK? Classic distraction technique btw, another conspiracist's tool of choice.

  25. To be fair only the reply was pasted here so I don't think we know what the matter was really about anyway. But again, what are you suggesting? A member of the Met office lied to a member of the public? The Met office are part of a wider conspiracy? Personally I'd sooner trust a second hand opinion from a meteorology expert than some loon on the internet who believes cancer is a vitamin deficiency. They can't even get the weather right. Science is all about managing uncertainty Parky my dear, and this is especially true of chaotic systems (like weather and the stock market). Problem with the Met office is that people don't handle uncertainty well, and they are pressurised into making categorical claims when they are not really certain. Anyway, I read this article and thought of you. Interesting article though, seriously, tell me what you think when you have a moment. New Scientist. As much as i agree with all that at the general level, true science can only deny and not affirm anything. The author is a bit confused though as affirming a relationship between autism and vaccines isnt denying anything. Its the proper scientific process of proposing alternative hypotheses for testing. 'Scepticism' which may be a better way of describing people who dont believe in following the guidance or governments of healthcare systems is right and Proper and enshrined in Popper. Disagreeing with the prevailing scientific view is healthy, it generates hypotheses that can be falsified. Absolutely. But what happens when people won't accept that their alternative hypothesis has been falsified, or just tweak it ad infinitum? At what point does rationality and common sense prevail? Also, there's degrees here. For example, I've no problem with people being sceptical of the NICE guidance on Alzheimers and even questioning the motivation of NICE themselves. That's healthy. But to claim all cancer is curable by vitamin C, or heart disease can be successfully treated with chelation therapy, and then propose that the medical hierarchy know and suppress this, is akin to mental illness imo. I liked this list. It seems spot on in describing the tactics of many conspiracy theorists. Some of it applies to Parky's post above this one.
