  1. What's your notice? I've got a week left of mine, I'm now in that sweet spot where I've wrapped up all my projects and can put my feet up, will go for an 8 mile seaside walk today, and then maybe actually get round to fixing my LinkedIn to make me more desirable for future employment. No leaving do planned, which is normal at our place given the huge turnaround/attrition rate, though will meet up with some at a later date by hitching on to a company event they'll be paying for. My first day in the new job have a 9.15 morning start on the Monday, just figuring out whether to stay in Manchester on Sunday in a cheap hotel or get up at the crack of dawn and feel tired all day, probably will do the former.
  2. Just seen the chat on the news. They're literally conducting war through the medium of emojis.
  3. Got this in my YT feed so will stick it here. It's funny if you haven't seen it.
  4. That is a horrific prospect for a Yorkshire man tbf.
  5. I dunno and tbh couldn't give a fuck about the Scottish issue given the rest of the World's problems. Long. long time to go before elections, anything could happen.
  6. This is the reality. So, there are three funding alternatives. 1) We increase taxes. But we are already taxed at record levels and the NI tax on employers probably will cause unemployment and reduced growth. Btw, don't forget re: education that Labour did put VAT on private schools which was a tax on the wealthy. 2) We increase austerity by cutting back public services. Made doubly hard now with the need to increase defence. 3) We break the fiscal rules and risk the wrath of the markets. None of these sound like good options to me but I am honest enough to accept I don't know the implications of option 3 too much. Reeves has absolutely ruled it out though so I am guessing it is bad. For the record, I think the difference between this Labour government and a tory one is I don't think Labour are malevolent and doing this for ideological reasons. They're doing it because they believe it is necessary. Plenty other countries are in the same boat. Whether there is another option I don't know, but it feels like we need to change capitalism to me.
  7. Used to take me 2 days to get my medication, now its nearer 2 weeks with some items not being sourced at all. We've all just got used to Supermarket shelves not having anywhere near the choice they did a decade ago too.
  8. This is fucking grim from Bridget like, if true. I advise @Rayvin not to click. Labour can't continue with this shit. I am finding it very hard to support them myself and I'm about as Labour as they come. This would be a red line for me.
  9. What's ironic is how insecure and fragile these so called alpha male hard men are. Utterly pathetic. But one thing that I would say is that you just know despite his money Musk is a deeply unhappy person and will die a deeply unhappy person. I think that applies to Trump too. Have you ever seen that cunt laugh or even smile?
  10. Pissing off your allies to this extent seems like a high price to pay for a distraction technique. I think something will come to a head regarding Greenland.
  11. Paywalled. Can you copy and paste it?
  12. They're not that bothered. Only a 30 page 600 odd post thread so far. That's modest by their standards.
  13. There are literally thousands of pages on it on the SMB marra. To sum up, Mags are gravy stained scum who support NUFC. Most Geordie are too, except the ones who support Sunderland for whatever reason. It's entirely acceptable to support Sunderland if you're from Northumberland, but if you support Newcastle from anywhere within the historic boundaries of county Durham, including Gateshead and the whole millennium bridge, you're the worst kind of gravy stained scum. Oh aye, and to be a geordie you need to be born within 100 yards of SJP And SJP is a shit tip but also a perfectly good stadium so we don't need a new stadium on Leazes Park.
  14. It's not a magpie like. If you have a ticketing account, you'll get a ticket for this event, for free. Don't even have to be a member. I'm with TP on this one, there are things to complain about but this isn't one.
  15. Really not keen on these blocky cheap looking high rises springing up in Manchester.
  16. There was a Wakefield like scandal over DTP in the mid 70s, it was bullshit just like the latter day one. DTP also covered diphtheria and tetanus. You don't want to get either of those diseases either. Chances are you will have at least had a tetanus one since at least.
  17. Fair enough. Looking forward to this advantage next season, I'd love to win this again (along with the FA cup, being realistic in our ambitions).
  18. What's the rationale for that? Sorry, I mean what's the pretend rationale for that? Luckily we will benefit next year I suppose.
  19. You'll have to wait until this becomes a regular thing for us, 3 trips to Wembley every year what with the FA cup semi-finals being there.
