  1. The odd thing is that the best sides Arsenal have had under Wenger had that steel and nastiness about them. He inherited the famous back 4/5 but he signed Vieira and Petit. The later 'invincibles' still had Vieira and the likes of Gilberto Silva, Lauren and Ljunberg. The latter 3 were all good players he signed but it's difficult to imagine him signing players like that for them now and their exactly the sorts of players the team needs. I agree with what's been said about some Arsenal fans to an extent but, at the same time, I think their should be serious questions asked about how they aren't in the running for the league in this of all seasons. There's been so little (if any) progress from the team in recent years.
  2. Christ, dropping like flies now. RIP http://metro.co.uk/2016/04/21/last-of-the-pg-tips-monkeys-dies-after-struggle-to-learn-how-to-be-a-chimp-5832524/
  3. There was an article a year or two ago going on about how Prince had enough unreleased material to keep release albums for decades to come. Normally you would think it would be shit if it hadn't been released but Prince was eccentric (and wealthy) enough for there to be loads of hidden gems in amongst it. I wasn't a huge fan of his but I have a couple of mates who are (or at least were, when they were younger) proper obsessed. I think he released some great tunes though.
  4. If Ronnie Corbett had've hung on a bit longer they could've shared a coffin.
  5. Had a quick look and it turns out he's from Liverpool. Not that unrealistic to suggest he's an Everton fan. Martinez has come out with some pearlers mind. I totally take your point though and his allegiances shouldn't colour his views to that extent.
  6. I always quite like Martinez as he always came across as quite honest in interviews and I would have been happy for us to go after him when he went to Everton as (what I believed to be) an upgrade on Pardew. At present he seems like a complete fraud. Phil McNulty on the BBC has done this article highlighting some of his 'nuggets' from post-match interviews where he's tried to pull the wool over the fans' eyes. I was also prepared to cut him some slack whilst at Wigan because of their limited resources but I think it's now apparent that his teams just can't defend. I think they might struggle next season if, say, Stones and/or Barkley were allowed to leave. The back four seems to be a bit past its best too.
  7. Change in outlook and policy has been the one constant in all the time he's been here.

  10. What's your favourite Beach Boys album? The best of the Beach Boys
  11. It was Spurs away and Liverpool at home. It's the only time this season I think. Couldn't manage 3 in a row because we had to play Villa at home next
  12. Hopefully we'll both need a point and can do a repeat of Austria v West Germany at Espana '82.
