  1. Sing Love Will Tear Us Apart in the style of 'The King' and you get your own one.
  2. Sounds lovely. I think we'll definitely head back there at some point. And aye, the vino can be a bit 'variable', to be it politely You do get some canny stuff though. Actually, the wine from Santorini is excellent. That's a different island though, obviously. The olive oil in Crete is very good mind. We found it very cheap too (about 4 years ago). Found this taverna, on a campsite of all places, which was really nice and the bloke there was so friendly. I think the most we spent there was about 20 Euros for the pair of us including drinks. We ended up going back about 4 or 5 times. Have a good one.
  3. Aye, 100% spot on that. Which is fucking depressing.
  4. Whereabouts in Crete you off to? Only been the once (Agia Galini) but did a bit of driving around. It's a beautiful island. Would like to go on a walking holiday there at some point and do the 'Alpine' section of the E4. Not in the middle August obviously.
  5. Even if he did have enough sway you could argue that he could have wanted Ben Arfa out of the picture but was also able to accept that his mate wasn't good enough for the first team anymore. The two positions aren't contradictory.
  6. There's a narrative in the media whereby all Newcastle fans are never happy, unrealistic and demand success all the time. It's not representative of the truth but it's handy for lazy journalists and their thick as fuck audience to be able to buy into it. Pardew seems more than happy to repeat the lie (in as many words) to try and take pressure off himself.
  7. Aldi is good imo. Cheap and, in general, pretty good quality. Their booze, for example, is excellent (the really cheap stuff is shit but that's the same with every other supermarket). Pay about 5 or 6 quid for a bottle of wine there and you can pretty much guarantee it'll be pretty nice. I quite often buy their 8 year old blended Scotch too. It's about 12 or 13 pound and is much nicer than comparable products (Famous Grouse, Bell's and the like). They get some fantastic stuff in a Xmas too. Last year I got a bottle of Margaux for Xmas day, a 30 y.o. Scotch, a 15 year old rum, an 18 year old Malt and (probably the best of the lot) a 30 year old tawny Port. The fruit and veg is good too.
  8. Nice one, I will check those mixes out. Good article as well.

Cheers everyone. 40 ffs How did that happen?
  10. While you might be right about them trying to shift the blame it's not really the same thing, i.e. the captain telling the manager, owner or whoever that player HBA is a disgrace and should be binned is likely to get a more sympathetic hearing than trying to get his mate a new contract / 1 year extension or whatever. As far as the owner is concerned, certainly.
  11. We've been here before. The article is (largely pro-Ashley) bollocks I reckon.
  12. Not to mention Souness not being able to handle players with an ego and Gullit fucking off to Amsterdam half the time. Ironically, Pardew is similar to both in that respect.
  13. Well, exactly. Or rather, there is no market but the club is always for sale. Finding someone meeting the price and having enough left over to take us forward on the other hand...
  14. Reminds me of this zany motherfucking douchebag: "Professional organiser"
  15. This keeps making me think of PIss Cock Partridge/Pardew.
  16. Or get yourself a vintage Swatch.

Probably won't make that much difference plus they'll never have another Tory government so not that staggering really.
  18. 3 league games into the season and the only reason the level of interest has been cranked up is because the manager may only be a couple of poor results away from getting the push. Fucking mint.
  19. And you'll always have the odd member of the public who has good taste.
  20. I can't go along with that. Someone with Ebola should be placed in isolation.
  21. I thought England played well and deserved the win. I was pleased for Welbeck too, as I like his attitude. I think the pundits on ITV (haven't seen / read any other press) went way OTT about the 2nd half performance though. At 1-0 there was a 10 - 15 minute period where the Swiss had loads of possession and we were just sitting and soaking it up. Then, when we got the ball, every single move was a three or four pass counter-attack, which kept giving the ball back to the opposition and inviting more pressure. I appreciate we were set-up to hit them on the break (and it worked) but I think that a top side in that position would have retained possession a lot better and had their opponents chasing shadows. We just aren't capable of doing that and I think that will often be the downfall when the other side has some genuine quality. Great result away from home against a good team though, obviously.
