  1. The 97-98 away shirt (green / orange stripe on navy blue) takes some beating for hideous Toon tops. Also, I've got a 'match issued' top worn by David Batty. It's the round neck one with the crest on the back and the centred badge. I've see other ones (grandad collar) for about 200 quid on Classic Football shirts. Might flog it as I think I've worn it about once. Got another away one Pedro wore from the 96-97 season (denim blue job). Wouldn't really want to sell that though.
  2. Is this you finally admitting I've been right about Taylor all along?
  3. Saw some rumours on the web a few weeks ago that he was meant to be the 'next famous entertainer' to be implicated in all this, as it happens.
  4. What you up to today, CT? Also, at breakfast did you get to try any of that 'Houses of Parliament' sauce I've heard about?
  5. It's absolute bollocks to suggest Robson is less well regarded in the media as a manager than any of those 3.
  6. If you want to protest, don't go. Ashley's laughing at people who voice their disapproval having already lined his pockets.
  7. Even the press don't make Redknapp out to be a good tactician. Also, how would Keegan and Robson fare if you judged them purely on the domestic club honours they'd won? I think Redknapp is overrated as a manager (although many players speak highly of him) but I think Venables and Hoddle have proved themselves as coaches.
  8. In certain cultures taking a dump on your plate is considered a compliment to the host.
  9. Ironic given you're inventing stuff other people have said to try and make your point.
  10. I've got that Mig's mix too as it happens. Very similar to the previous one I mentioned. I totally agree with you too. I like the music but it usually ends up being played in the sort of places I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a shitty stick than spend a lot of time in. Similar with clubbing where I always felt more comfortable in a dive listening to techno or jungle than a posey house club. I quite like the Bargrooves compilations too (before Defective bought the series) which were usually mixed by Ben Sowton. In the same way, I wouldn't go for the sort of venues the music is played in (the Seamless Records parties / events look awful). It's basically irrelevent like as I rarely go out these days anyway. It's the soundtrack to me and my lass eating our tea.
  11. I used to knock about with this lass who I went to uni with. She was a south London girl and I was down staying at her place. We were supposed to go to Wiggle one night but she was predictably fucking hopeless about it and couldn't work out where we were meant to be going so we never made it. I got quite into the Pagan label around about that time though. I've got the mixed version of that Architecture compilation. I've got a few other compilations and albums off the label too: http://www.discogs.com/Housey-Doingz-Doing-It/release/68095 http://www.discogs.com/House-Of-909-Soul-Rebels/master/144466 http://www.discogs.com/Derrick-Carter-Pagan-Offering/release/7836 http://www.discogs.com/Swayzak-Snowboarding-In-Argentina/release/163936 http://www.discogs.com/House-Of-909-The-Children-We-Were/release/5349 http://www.discogs.com/Presence-All-Systems-Gone/release/1720 This is probably my favourite though: More of a deep house than a tech house vibe on that one.
  12. Llambias said this two years ago: "I would like us to challenge for Europe year on year, and win a trophy. Last year we had a tremendous season - our goal this season is eighth and above but Alan wants to do better than fifth and our players want to do better than fifth." 12 months on from that we were being told we couldn't compete with the likes of Southampton. Fast forward another year and the stated aim is 48 points. Progress.
  13. The apartment looks nice but I'd find the idea of Ronald McDonald doing selfies in it a bit creepy.
  14. I think, a bit like McClaren, if you're just after a coach (which is essentially all the manager's role at NUFC needs to be under Ashley, given the lack of input into transfer dealings) then he'd be a significant upgrade on Pardew.
  15. Without wishing to get too bogged down with sub-genres, I like the tech-house sound too. I like those two you posted (especially the 2nd one). A couple of DJs I've already mentioned (Colin Dale and Luke Solomon) are well into that stuff now. Dale did an excellent Excursions mix that was mainly that a few years ago: http://www.discogs.com/Colin-Dale-Excursions-03/release/62174 which you'd probably like. I think I like house mixes better when they mix it up a bit though as I think just a tech-house set can get a bit dull. It can be brilliant when the DJ gets it right though. Edit: Nice example of the sort of stuff on that Colin Dale comp: http://www.beatport.com/track/elektro-kraut-ian-pooleys-moody-remix/4947383
  16. If you were in that position, what would you do if you could get a ticket via a member of staff?
  17. Haven't seen that but I also liked The Fisher King which I saw again recently.
  18. Whilst not a massive deal, it's very petty, very cheap and nasty and so very Mike Ashley.
  19. Put a wink on the end of some of these man.
  20. If someone could give you an example it would have already been uncovered.
  21. RIP. Loved him in The World According to Garp. Not to mention Mork and Mindy when I was bairn.
  22. A squad number traditionally worn by a central defender is vacant* and you've taken that to mean we're signing a midfielder? I mean, we might be about to sign one but I just don't see how you've made that connection based on that. (*I know the centre half position was a midfield position orignally btw)
  23. Went to the local fruit and veg shop to buy some asparagus when the British stuff was in season. The stuff they had in was Peruvian
