When you look at what’s happened since the initial attack, in terms of reports coming out of Israel, there a huge amount of anger re: the government. Whether they’ve been complicit in allowing this to happen or just incompetent is difficult to say. But in terms of the immediate response (like the people hiding in a Kibbutz for hours as Hamas hunted people down with no help coming to give one example) there is certainly a lot they need to answer to. There seems to be a lot of Israeli anger and fear amongst the general population over the military response too. It seems to be condemning the hostages to certain death. Of course there are no easy answers as to why this was able to happen but complacency to the point of gross negligence seems to the ‘best’ the Israeli government can plead

Yeah. Daily newspapers dedicated to sport but about 90% of that is football so they need to fill the pages somehow. But I guess we’ll find out soon as the process here seems to have been really quick here.

There’s not really a proper definition of communism imo. Certainly nothing that actually stands up to anything that exists in the real world which is described as communist (even by governments describing themselves as such). Maybe the odd commune in the middle of nowhere practices something approaching it. I’m not advocating it because it doesn’t work because of human nature and the counterproductive reality of applying it zealously on a large scale. It’s basically just another bit of name-calling (like ‘woke’) used on cesspits like Twitter, often applied to moderate progressives by people who ‘tell it like it is’.

It’s hard because when you’re socially awkward you kind of build up the difficulty in overcoming that into some big emotional obstacle. Then you’re only 4 so you don’t really understand it and the other kids are only four too so they don’t really get it either. It’s brilliant they like football because stuff like that can be a great way of forming social bonds. I like Robin’s advice and also what Renton said about making the teachers aware of your concerns. I don’t know of you / your lass are mates with any parents but, if so, maybe do some stuff out of school where they can make friends by doing stuff in smaller groups. Even if it’s just come round for sone pizza and to watch a film. Anyway, best of luck with it all, mate

I haven’t watched all that clip because I just don’t want to but I’ve seen some footage previously. I don’t know why, perhaps because I could empathise to an extent. But it really got to me. There’s some footage of a young lass dancing to d&b then within a short time she’d apparently been raped, murdered and had her limbs broken in horrific fashion. Just one story I suppose but there was something about the contrast from that carefree happy moment of youth and what followed. Absolutely heartbreaking
