Hamas knew what the reaction would be if they were successful so it just made me think they don’t give a shit about the fate of the average Palestinian either.

I find his writing style to be very pretentious at times but he often gets things spot on in terms of the angle he takes. He’s spot on about the hypocrisy and overt racism re: the Saudis for example. I’ve occasionally read his blog in the past but it’s a bit uncomfortable sometimes to say the least. He loves a deeply entrenched personal grudge as well

I think Tooj just saw them live

They do seem to have a lot of ex-players who are happy to let it be known they have nothing but disdain for the club. I can’t think of other clubs where that’s the case. McClean absolutely hates them. Bent seemed delighted to relegate them

Zomlot is spot on in what he says. And I agree with your other points. I think there’s probably bias in that interview but I also think that the BBC has tried its best to be impartial on this. I think aimaad makes a lot of good points too btw. To be honest I’ve refrained from getting involved in talking about it, because it’s so fucking depressing, not to mention so complex and ingrained that I can’t even think of anything remotely approaching a solution. What a tragic waste of life the last few days have been. It must be awful for you, having family members involved. I really hope they all stay safe and that this de-escalates soon.

Joking apart though, what a fucking seismic moment in the recent history of our club that was

He’s a fucking knacker like. He’s not the only one on there who assumes that the promising young players they have will improve exponentially between now and the age of 25 either. Because that always happens. Like them talking about Jack Clarke being the next Waddle. And the way they went on about Ross Stewart. Instead of recognising them as being just another good player at that level. They’ve obviously recruited well within their financial restraints but the ‘model’ they're following is unlikely to be sustainable in the long run. It’s not like it’s anything new, most clubs without a benevolent owner and / or parachute payments are trying to do something similar.

Thoughts and prayers should be enough

You have to say that it’s impressive that flags originated in a place nowhere near as old as flags themselves though

They actually invented magpies too.

It’s going to be a long international break -
It wasn’t in reference to you (or CT) but you see it loads in the lakes.

I get not being into hiking (to each their own). But I DO NOT FUCKING GET the types who go to the pubs in Keswick, Ambleside etc wearing about a £1000’s worth of immaculate walking gear. I mean if you’re going to pretend to be something, why a rambler? It’s so weird.

Twenty teams. Four groups of five. Top two in each group makes the quarters. I’m be no means an expert and haven’t seen all of the matches (or even most of them). But I quite like it and appreciate it. There’s been some great games though. I don’t actually mind Beckham and he won me over as a player. But I’ve got absolutely zero interest in sanitised, rehearsed celebrity bullshit. -

He’s never fully recovered from the thrill of finding a white chocolate crème egg. Life lost its meaning after that

Portugal just beat Fiji at the death in an amazing match (I only saw the second half tbh). And Fiji scrape second place in the group and play England in the quarter finals next weekend.

No problem, mate.

I’m not sure he knows what his best position is. Same goes for the manager. He likes to get on the ball a lot and I think he might turn out to be a central midfielder. But with the players we have and the system we tend to play, one of the wing positions is his best chance of game time / getting starts. Certainly in the short term
