When The Office first came out I used to watch it, then watch the re-run later in the week. Apart from it being that good (imo) some of the bits were that inappropriately cringeworthy (deliberately so) that it was only humorous the second time round.

Frasier was the shittest character on the show and I think he’s the only character from the previous one in the sequel. Cheers was shit too.
-
Aye, fuck that shit. Re: The new Frasier. I watched a bit of Boiling Point (the film the TV show follows on from). I thought it was well acted and clever in the way in ratcheted up the tension. The trouble from my pov is that, while I like going out for a nice meal, I can’t get away with the amount of self-important wankers there are in that sort of world. Especially that trendy hipster London bollocks. Where influencers and celebrity chefs are king. I just couldn’t give a fucking shit what people like that think so I couldn’t get into it.

One man fighting a losing battle. Against himself

He’s a cunt even by their standards. Another traitor as well

Weird because all the England rugby wankers reckon there’s never any bother watching the rugby. Because they’re a superior breed to football fans. I would like to see England win but, apart from not being able to see any way past South Africa, it’ll piss off those twats when they lose

I know Starmer (for example) comes across as a coward at times. I’m fairly disappointed in him but, as with a lot of other things, but (perhaps especially) with this, he literally can’t do anything but repeat what the government, the US and so on are saying without loads of elements in the media jumping all over him. It’s an example of how it’s so difficult for moderates to get their nuanced opinions heard and how everything is so polarised in so much political debate. Not really a defence of Starmer but a moan about how fucking frustrating and hopeless it seems for those who want peace. Which I honestly think is the majority of people everywhere

The last couple of lines from Renton kind of nails it for me. What is happening (not just the most recent events) is down to so many external factors and not just the direct combatants at present. The unwavering support for Israel and ignoring the simmering resentment / plight of the Palestinians on one side. Then the stoking of the flames from Iran and others. Saudi Arabia making a play in their regional opposition to Iran. Egypt helping in the blockade of Gaza (again not just recently). All of it gradually making things worse until it blows up again. And it will happen in the future too if Israel just complete a successful military operation which is essentially a short term fix. It’s profoundly depressing and I don’t know how you put it right. But I don’t think just blaming one side solves anything. And for what little my opinion is worth, I think it’s grossly unfair to say Gloom has been anti-Palestinian in the views he’s expressed.

More of an espresso martini chocolate milkshake imperial stout man?

Wonderfully articulate and utterly heartbreaking

I can’t remember where I read it but there was talk about the likelihood of an all Northern Hemisphere set of semifinalists after the group stage ended

Gutted for you lot, ewerk. Unbelievably good match from a neutral point of view. Not that it’ll be much consolation for Ireland

I think Cherry B (which I’ve never seen for years) is cherry wine. The sort of thing deemed a suitable drink for a young lady on a night out many moons ago. Especially if the establishment had ran out of Babycham

Qualifying is easier than it used to be. I get the argument about doing better than his predecessors in major finals. But I think there’s a strong argument he’s had a better set of players too. That said, I do also agree he’s done better than sone of them would’ve done with those players. Actually though, someone like Robson would’ve been perfect

Tbf I only watched about 20 minutes before turning over to watch some paint dry. I like Henderson as well. I think he was a top player but I don’t really get giving him over an hour’s game time in a match like that. I don’t even think he warrants a place in the squad any more. For a player like that, when your legs go a bit you lose a lot of what made you such a good player in the first place. I know Southgate rates him as a great character to have around etc but that shouldn’t justify giving him matches. I don’t think he’ll do it but Southgate should be looking at a midfield of Rice, Bellingham and maybe a player like Alexander-Arnold. Why play the latter at RB last night? Even in the bits I saw he got caught out of position a couple of times and you’ll come against much better opposition than Australia. And Australia were basically a very well drilled team, saying come and break us down and he plays two holding midfielders? He seems like a nice bloke but the manager has lost the plot imo. A bit like yourself, I’m not that arsed but I think he’s not getting the most out of the players at his disposal

Overrated

That doesn’t even make sense. Nice of you take on the mantle of the board’s contrarian edgelord btw. It’s been a while. Fucked if I can be arsed to further indulge you though
-
What an utterly ridiculous comment. Journalists can’t ask politicians difficult questions about the present because of the actions of a previous government. You’re not very good at this btw 👍🏻

Yeah. We learnt a lot about Jordan Henderson. What a future that kid has

Today he feels Palestinian. Today he feels Israeli
