Not sure. He still occasionally did when this place temporarily shut down.

Always found it a bit odd all the nuclear deterrent for the UK was onboard subs. I know it’s a missile failure but apart from that aren’t we the only nuclear power with that approach?

KLD giving the fans what they want ?

Not sure what the hierarchy are playing at. Backing the players over the manager is straight from the Ellis Short book on how not to run a football club. Sacking Mowbray felt like a mistake at the time but was compounded by Beale’s appointment and subsequent sacking. Surely knocking on the door of the playoffs is doing well considering the extended stay in the third tier and not really spending anything. I suspect KLD is just completely out of his depth but you’d be forgiven for thinking it was a hatchet job with some of the decisions. Speakman seems to be running the show, even though his only previous experience is being in charge of an academy.

After last night’s results and the Beale debacle they are 7 points off the playoffs and you can get 40/1 for them to get promoted.

I remember over on N-O, Parky (without saying it was Irvine who said it) relating some of his views about Anne Frank. But as though they were the established historical consensus.

The cheeky cunt’s punching well above his weight with his current missus

You could save yourself a bit of time and effort by just listing the stuff that doesn’t grind his gears

I think it’s because it’s ranked by the third column. Although i take your point

Just thinking about this in relation to the recent revelations about the Nottinghamshire Police: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/19/police-shared-graphic-details-nottingham-attack-victims-whatsapp which I think backs up what I was saying about them looking after their own in the case of ‘experienced officers’.

So basically their job is more important to them than their principles. Which I have no problem with. As long as you’re prepared to admit that all the time. Whereas most of this lot make out that’s not the case. And it’s not like Delaney is falling over himself to point out he should’ve been a vocal critic of Putin before but couldn’t be in his articles. Although fair play of him to admit it on Twitter. But we know the actual problem with the PIF with these lot is really about how it impacts their own beloved football clubs.

I mean I’d love to know what’s so bad about the club affiliating itself with the women’s team, spending a bit of money on it and allowing the players to go full time as a result. And why he feels the need to denigrate their opponents as though they don’t need to climb through the pyramid structure like everyone else. I’m sure it was fucking brilliant when Putin’s puppet was doing that at Chelsea though.

He makes some decent points but he can’t write an article that doesn’t ooze with self satisfied smugness
-
He has a bit of time for our club and its fans. Which makes a nice change. But it’s still usually birth right, cathedral on the hill and other patronising stuff like that.

She’s a genuinely deeply unpleasant grifter. Although I find the amount of people taken in by the likes of her worse

There wasn’t a fucking risk when he was playing for us

Saw that a while back. Apparently the lad has Tourette’s, which doesn’t make it any less funny.

Which is nice

Blackpool South is a marginal in the sense it was close at the last election. The only thing that’ll be close going off the polling is the Reform v Conservatives race for second place

Brehme played mostly down the left but was two-footed and, iirc, scored with his right for the penalty and only goal of the final in Italia 90. Also played in the young West German side that gave Argentina a hell of a match four years earlier. Also, in addition to HMHM’s point about the 3 Germans at Inter and the Dutch trio at Milan. That was the strongest and richest league in the world at that time. Not just that but only 3 foreigners were allowed in any starting XI in Serie A back then too. So you had to be a bit special to make the cut

Imagine thinking it’s a policy that’ll turn things around for them too. On one hand you’ve got people appalled by that sort of rhetoric. On the other you’ve got people who are very anti-immigration who don’t trust them to deliver. Then the majority in the middle with far more pressing priorities
-
If that’s true and given his short tenure here and at Brighton then it sounds like he could be a bit of a fraud who talks a good game. Obviously in our somewhat bitter collective states of mind, that’s what we would like to be the case. But it would also be so very Man Utd to be taken in if that was the case.

I don’t recall who said it but it’s been mentioned in here before about the owner’s data-based approach at BHA being the key to their success in recruitment

The government that has brought you record levels of immigration has a plan to deliver the biggest ever cut in migration?
