I think Howay pointed out that Henry Winter was all over Ashworth purely because it was Man Utd after him. I said then that would just indicate Ashworth’s ability to sell himself as it’s not like he’s going to showing journalists exactly what he knows. Then you have bias views of Rio Ferdinand who will know absolutely fuck all about Ashworth beyond his decent reputation and Man Utd wanting him suddenly hailing the bloke as the best in the world at what he does. You can also guarantee the same people making these claims re: Ashworth also think this amazing football genius should be allowed to join Man Utd tomorrow with ourselves just allowing that to happen. Without even realising the contradiction there. All of which plays to John from Devon, lifelong Man Utd fan. Who understands stuff like this about as much as how to get to Old Trafford. Honestly, man. The fucking arrogance of these cunts. Alright, Ashworth has had his head turned by a bigger club and wants to leave. But he’s under contract so it’s absolutely on our terms or he remains on gardening leave until 2025. By which time the impatient hierarchy could well have gone for an alternative anyway. Which would be hilarious

A few of the Derby County side looked like they’d make decent rugby players -

It’ll become a bigger story when Badenoch doubles down on the lie

I can’t really see why he’d lie about it if he couldn’t back it up. Whereas the government lie by default and seem oblivious to the fact it always catches up with them. And also makes them look terrible in the process

Went to watch the Newcastle United Women’s team play at Kingston Park yesterday. We got some freebies so me and my lass took my eldest and his mate. It was alright. You’d imagine there won’t be many good enough as they progress like. The 28, Lumsden I think, was lively on the wing and got the first goal. The centre half no.23, Potts, was the best player on the pitch by a mile though. Proper Rolls Royce. -

Over a decade, then a bit less. It was ‘funny’ because there were 3 directors. 2 major shareholders and a minor one. One of the former, who was a sound fella, retired after his grandson was diagnosed with autism and the place changed almost overnight. Ironically the big customer was lost because of the minor shareholder. Who is still there of course It all worked out for the best though

Where I used to work I got two weeks paid paternity at the paltry statutory level. Any additional was unpaid. So for eldest then the twins that’s all I took / all I could afford. Then when they temporarily lost a big customer they instantly made about two thirds of the workforce (me included) redundant at the statutory rates again. It’s quite a small company (c. 20 people before that happened). Funny how you find out what people are really like. And one of the directors let slip they had about £5m quid in the company bank account just before I left. Good fucking riddance in the end but it didn’t feel like that at the time. Anyway, sorry to hijack your announcement. Congratulations, mate

Beale is contracted until June ‘26 iirc. They are such a basket case of a club

That said, the actual polling by constituency suggests an annihilation (although not on that scale). And btw, that’s on the back of boundary changes that were supposed to help the Tories
-
Aye. I think they’ll have used opinion polls, like you say, for the other 3 nations and then extrapolated the by election result / swing for England as a whole. And, as Renton points out, it even says it’s just for fun
