Btw, some of the shit Dibnah did. Like dismantling old factory chimneys in places like Oldham brick by brick with just him and his mate is fucking mental. Then for a hobby him and the same fella used to do stuff like taking apart old locomotives, cleaning and replacing the parts and putting them back together including doing the rivets and everything. It’s fucking nuts but I can see the attraction

My lass gives me stuck for sitting in the kitchen watching episodes of stuff like Man Alive and documentaries about Fred Dibnah on the BBC Archive channel on YouTube but she’ll be sat in the living room watching stuff like Trigger Point

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Worst thing is that the ref was correct and VAR decided they didn’t need to get involved for the obvious reason there was nothing wrong with the decision. Of course nobody thought it was remotely controversial even when we had a goal chalked off in a not too dissimilar situation in the league cup final. Although I think a lot of it from a Liverpool pov is to deflect away from how Slot has spent a fucking fortune only to make them a significantly weaker team -
Not sure where to start with that.

I do agree on nuclear weapons. No one is getting rid any time soon

Were Corbyn’s pledges undeliverable though? His domestic ones anyway. He’d have been a disaster in terms of foreign affairs and was too stupid to play the game and say the right things. He didn’t lose because of what he wanted to do domestically. I don’t know if the greens are the answer. I fear with fptp they might help deliver a reform government and then fuck knows what disasters will befall this country. But Labour can’t continue with their competent version of the tories schtick. It’s got no fucking appeal beyond not making things worse. They continue to ignore the issue of leaving the EU and offer nothing in terms of vision whilst chasing voters who’d rather not vote than vote for them.

It’s in that interview and he’s answering a question. He says (I’m paraphrasing ) it’s unlikely but the possibility of negotiations for peace shouldn’t be off the table.

Look, we’ve won something in my lifetime. Everything else (except my death, but possibly including that) is a bonus.

I hope he gets up through the night and stands on a plug

I’m not saying Howe should be sacked, but the way modern football is, he’s probably not a kick up the arse away from it happening. Two or three more bad results maybe. I have faith in his ability to turn things around but we’ve never really been in this territory with the owners before since Howe was appointed

The international break can’t come soon enough. We’re fucked if we don’t get some players ie both the first choice fullbacks and Wissa available soon. Howe’s absolutely hung Burn out to dry by persisting with him at LB. He had the perfect opportunity to give Hall a run out when Burn got lucky not conceding a pen. He’d been completely exposed before that too so it’s not like it was an isolated incident.
