Elanga had a few opportunities when he could’ve used the space to beat the fullback with his pace and looked a bit scared to do so. That’s definitely a confidence thing imo. On Tonali, what really sets him apart from lots of other good midfielders I’ve seen is that pace / burst of acceleration over 10-20 yards he has. I’m not saying players with his engine, vision, range of passing and technique / close control are exactly growing on trees. But how many times do you think - if he just had a bit of extra pace? Tonali has that and he’s quite a big, strong lad too, even by premier league standards
