  1. I’d recommend The Apartment if you’ve never seen it. Anyway practically all Christmas films are about something else and set at Christmas. It’s not like you get many depicting the birth of Jesus is it? I’d argue even It’s A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol aren’t really about Christmas.
  2. I was just about to say I’ve got little sympathy for anyone who thought it might be a decent investment. Fucking morons
  3. Right, I’ll go with 5 I’d pretty much have to watch if I stumbled across them of an evening at this time of year: Die Hard The Apartment It’s A Wonderful Life A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim version. The George C Scott one is great, but come on - it’s Alastair Sim) Miracle on 34th Street (old B&W version)
  4. That post has more laughs than the films put together.
  5. If my sums are right, that is now one hundred scores of 50 or more in tests for Joe Root
  6. Just for a bit of balance ASM is a great person too. He regularly donates his bandages to the international Red Cross
  7. Rents will be telling us Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Great Escape aren’t Christmas films next
  8. And, as I’ve just discovered, joint 29th goal-scorer and joint 31st in terms of assists in the Turkish league this season

Not sure that ‘scoop’ was worth bumping the thread for
  10. I know. They aren’t infallible though
  11. I mean there’s plenty instances of people who’ve walked into schools, nightclubs, gone up to people they don’t even know and acted in a seemingly cold and calculated manner (for whatever reason, related to their mental state at that time). It seems quite a leap to state this makes this particularly murder having all the hallmarks of being carried out by a professional killer
  12. The best bit is he’s a professional footballer but the bit with the ball is definitely CGI. But the dancing appears to be real
  13. So, apparently this is what Jesse Lingard is getting up to now he’s playing in South Korea:
  14. Probably not a huge shock that he isn’t Mourinho’s cup of tea
  15. I don’t think we’ve got anyone particularly good at taking them. Especially without Trippier playing. Even a Duncan Ferguson or Andy Carroll type would struggle without decent delivery
  16. In the post match interview he admitted he was just trying to keep it in / put it back into the danger area. Which was very honest given it looked like he knew exactly what he was doing / meant it. Although it was a superb bit of technique anyway
  17. You take Salah out that side last night and they struggle to create anything imo
  18. He was desperate for theirs to be given / VAR to get involved too (the Burn ‘handball’). Which was never a pen imo.
  19. It’s the way we’re set up too though. Even though we were well worth the lead at HT (should’ve been more, which ultimately cost us a victory) I think Liverpool had something like 60% possession. Against a side like that sitting in, keeping it tight and looking to hit on the break is very effective. Tonali seemed to be deeper / more central too. He was excellent and gave us a degree of control in there we’ve not had much this season. He’s very clever in tight situations and normally manages to wriggle out of it and retain possession. Instead of just winning a foul. Which Bruno is very clever at doing. And while that takes the pressure out a situation it can kill momentum
  20. I just remember people drifting in to watch the match build up but loads of us were absolutely not having the tv being turned over, given what happening. Despite it being amazing I think I aged about 5 years watching that innings. Especially at the death with (non) run out and LBW.
