it's so worth it man. when does a ready meal ever taste as good as home cooked meal?
  3. we're not out of it but feeling much better about things after the lucky away win at villa and the convincing win against chelsea plus how well some of the newbies look, plus we're still due back tiote and ben arfa. so to upsum, no. i think we'll be ok. largely down to the new signings as we now have better strength in depth. if only they'd been signed in the summer we might have had another decent season!
  4. just bought a bespoke suit from a place called dress2kill near waterloo. not bad value at all - £380 for a tailor made suit complete with a couple of flash touches like red stitched button hole and matching red lining with my initials in the pocket.
  5. yeah. i was doing clean and press into pull ups as supersets last week. pure savagery man
  6. winning this trophy would be the biggest thing in most of our lives supporting newcastle. we MUST take it seriously. pardew would be given the keys to the city and would never have to buy a drink in newcastle ever again if he managed us to a trophy and even ashley would get a pat on the back.
  7. i always used to enjoy the 'continental breakfast' at 6am after a night out raving.

japanese noodle soup is the bomb. there's a chain down here called itsu. not sure if it's int he toon yet. lush noodle soups for under a fiver a pop.
  9. i was scpetical at first but it really gets the heart rate going plus your muscles fatigue as they would if you were lifting heavier weights. trainer reckons more effective way of getting lean. i suppose lifting heavier, you tend to take more time out between sets so doesn't always get the heart rate going quite as much.
  10. been doing some high rep, low weight training with my new trainer. totally different type of training to what i'm used to but quite enjoying it. been feeling like a big girl putting next to no weight on the power bar but it totally works, you just fatigue in a different way. he's been preaching about time under tension too. so the idea on an excercise like bench press for example is that instead of busting out 5 or 6 reps of the heaviest weight you can lift but pushing up and down at a steady pace, you drop the weight by about half, lower it over 4 seconds, hold for three seconds then push up in one. 10 reps of that and arms and chest are like jelly.
  11. Unless Cisse and shola get injured and Nile Ranger is first choice
  12. I said that if we signed a replacement for Ba it would have been a near perfect window. We're still a Cisse injury away from Shola as our number 1 striker but we might just get away with it if everyone stays fit because the players now fit the system.
  13. Though it would be hard not give up on him in truth.
  14. How many times has he been through rehab though? Can only see it ending in tears. He doesn't have the support network needed to survive I fear.
  15. I almost don't mind that he's not a like for like replacement for Ba as he fits the new system better. We have options in the attacking positions behind the lone front striker now so Cisse can play through the middle. We still need a better option than shola as number two centre forward but we might not need to break the bank to get one.
  16. Our league is either the best or the second best in the world. Spain probably slightly ahead at the moment but there's not much in it when you look at the teams that have made up the latter stages of the champions league in the last decade. Italian football is often played out in front half empty decrepit old stadiums populated by neo nazi ultras. And the standard is nowhere near what it was 20 years ago. The Bundesliga is run in the right way but you can't compare the quality there to La Liga or the PL. The French and Dutch leagues make up the also rans. Some good players it not a lot of money, comparatively, and most of the top players quickly depart for England or Spain. I look at the Scottish primer league and I just feel a bit sad. What happened? I grew up in the 80s when Scotland produced players with flair that made up half of the dominant Liverpool team. Now; well it's just a bit pathetic isn't it? What do you out its demise and the complete dearth of talented Scottish footballers down to?
  17. Just watched first episode of house of cards. Promising start - stylish and intelligent. Typical Fincher.
  18. 8th would be an unbelievable finish after the start we had. 10th to 12th probably more realistic.
  19. cabaye's been inspired since coming back from injury. thought he was udner par slightly earlier his season. looking forward to seeing him play alongside tiote and sissoko. that could be a formidable midfield three
  20. the cornerstone of any nuritous breakfast i rememeber one year as term was coming to an end, having next to no money left and basically having to eat what was left in the cupboards rather than buy fresh food so i had enough cash left over for the end of year raving. one particularly depressing meal consisted of tesco value rice topped with grated tesco value cheese.
