  1. this kind of thread takes some serious thought and consideration. i'll mull it over and return
  2. A truly horrendous budget update from Osborne. Yet another extra year of austerity. We will still be paying the price for the financial crisis of 2008 in 2018! This savage brand of austerity isn't working, growth forecasts have been revised down and now economists are predicting a triple dip recession. Osborne knows he has some political leverage by going after the 'benefit scrounges' but this relentless and savage austerity will eventually start hurting middle income families. And the points Labour have been making all along since Brown was PM about the dangers of cutting so quickly might hit home with key swing voters just in time for the next election. The irony about the deficit not rising as predicted is Osborne is banking the money from the 4g spectrum sale - which hasn't even happened yet!
  3. Agree. They were canny. Her solo stuff was dull
  4. And football. And cooking. And losing weight. And spending fuck loads of money on hobbies that last 5 minutes.
  5. FT and Indy only papers not to splash with this non story. The guardian and times devoted their ENTIRE front pages. Honestly, who gives a fuck?
  6. so basically CT, it looks like you're the only one that thinks he's finished. what a surprise
  7. never has a player needed a few goals more. he's a confidence player. i can can see him having having plenty of dry spells like this and plenty of runs like last season when everything he touches end up in the back of the net. badly needs a goal now though. some of his efforts when well placed last night were very poor. he just seemed to want to get his shot away as soon as possible every time he had a chance.
  8. agreed. he's generally been a top performer for us since signing despite there being obvious limitations to his game in terms of crossing. it's all very well knocking him but at the moment we don't have anyone better in that position, and we look a poorer team when he's out of the side.
  9. Down there with your Ben Arfa posts from last season
  10. Oh. And Marveaux I thought did very well. Very encouraging given injury to Ben Arfa
  11. Positives - Anita, Bigi and Jonas all played well. Negatives - Cisse still looks like his confidence is shot. Got himself into some decent positions but blazed most of his chances. Still lacking the clinical composure we saw last season. Definitely a confidence player. He'll need to step it up if Ba is out for a while.
  12. what's your excuse for posting with that username?
  13. anything he touched las season hit the back of the net. right, foot, left foot the lot
  14. Aye, chebs oot or your a fake LBT account
  15. The Master will almost certainly be self indulgent, over acted and way too long. Most critics will fawn and most audiences will leave, scratching their heads.
  16. I'm only going if CT, Stevie, Wolfy, Lake Bells Tits, J69 and Leazesmag all make it. That would be an interesting mix.
  17. Barley mow - nostalgia trip. Consumed many a pre-Riverside gig pint down there over the years. Was redone as some poncey bar years ago wasn't it?
  18. Well that's 5 minutes I'm never getting back. Cheers CT!
  19. surely he's got more than enough to live off for the rest of his life? he made millions from the mayweather and pacman fights. though with a coke habit, who knows? i honestly think he returned to boxing to see if he could rekindle old performances. the money wouldn't hurt of course, but he didn't want to be remembered for being knocked out in two rounds in his last fight. sadly, his comeback ended like so many others - on the canvas yet again. you could see from his post match interview how much it meant to him. i just hope he can reflect on a wonderful career and enjoy his retirement from the ring - and a future career in the media, if he wants it - instead of sinking back into drugs, booze, junk food and depression.
  20. i echo that. i watched the fight on pay per view. he started well but looked old and tired and was hanging on in there from about round 5. timing was way off. he really ought to knock it on the head but it's so hard for fighters to accept it's all over. watching his post fight interview was heart breaking. hopefully he'll reflect on the fact he's had a world class career and can still sell out a 20k capacity venue in 6 hours. he's got a media personality career waiting for him if he wants it. i do fear for for him though. likely to balloon in size and be back on the luca before long.
  21. shearer at least allegedly has a personality behind his dull media persona. owen, i suspect, is just dull.
  22. you're wrong. we didn't only play long ball football last season. we mixed it up, sometimes it was short passing; other times more direct. but it was effective. we finished 5th don't forget.
