  1. We didn't even ket a kuqi like panic buy this time. Not that that's a bad thing
  2. Dont quite understand what "read" means. But crowds have taken a 3,000 hit I meant for a reason...stupid iPad. The reason being people are sick of the direction the club had taken under ashley
  3. Crowds have taken a big hit for a read on CT. I can only see hem getting worse as long as he's in charge too.
  4. 12-15 goals in the league would be a canny return frm a player that clearly isn't rated by th majority that have seen him play.
  5. We weren't in great shape when ashley took charge. There's no doubt about that. We had 3 or 4 poor seasons where everything sir bobby built up was thrown away after a series of stupid sackings and appointments. Hiring and backing souness turned out to be a massive disaster for the club, which was exacerbated by appointing roeder then allardyce. That all said, we were better off then because for all the previous owners' poor decision making, at least they gave a shit about the club. They wanted us to do well. They wanted the fans to be excited about going to the match, i honestly don't think Ashley gives a toss about any of that.
  6. I've never heard of a Chinese dish with cheese like. I love a sag panneer mind.
  7. Fucking love cheese me. Montgmery cheddar owns all others. The dogs balls for sarnies. For crackers, post meal, I like a mixed bag - a nice ripe choume, a French goat cheese covered in ash, maybe something Swiss like a gruyere. Or something similar like a comte. A nice ripe piece of Camembert that oozes so much it can be spread straight on to a baguette is one of life's pleasures.
  8. Someone close to the lad really should have seen it cuming.
  9. The basis of the strategy is sound but in practice it hasn't worked. I don't think there would be too many complaints if he'd banked most of the 35m but made a modest investment of say 10m on transfer fees. All he really had to do was sign a couple of loan players for where we're short if he couldn't agree transfer fees to fit into his budget. We're really not asking for a lot. Just something.
  10. Sign of the times and the success in lowering of expectations that some are pinning their hopes on this lad. None of our current strikeforce are really good enough to be first choice striker at a big premiership club, that's obvious by the fact none of them have taken the number 9 shirt. That's not to say Best can't improve or be a useful player for us. His earned some respect through his goals. A lack of options means a run in the team is inevitable. Hopefully he'll up his game in terms of overall play, not getting caught offside and scoring goals. The worrying thing is one of him or Shola does bang in a few goals and then Ashley decides he doesn't need to replace Carrol in the next window either. He probably thinks we're so stupid we'll forget about the 35m if he puts it off long enough.
  11. Deano, you are probably the most naïve poster on here with regard to newcastle. Some of your predictions were deluded and the majority were proved right in mocking you. Your posting style is more like a 15 year old than a 25 year old. And it's repetitive, irritatingly so. However foolish your posts come across, you don't seem a bad sort. But this reaction isn't painting you in the best light. You'be far better off staying here and taking your abuse like a man. You just have to accept your views not taken so seriously given how contrary to the consensus they are. Basically, man up or be forever remembered as a flouncy bitch who threw his toys out of the pram.
  12. The best interests of the club would have been to secure a striker, at the very least a loan player like bendtner rather than no one if the club couldn't agree a fee or wages for a player on a permanent deal.
  13. Rugby (league and union) is the only sport I've never got into. Which is a shame as my father in law us a former international. I think my lack of interest in his sport always disappointed him.
  14. I'd be embarrassed to post here if I were Deano.
  15. I'd gain new found respect for him if he were to offer an honest assessment like that. But he won't. That's why he's in the job - he's a yes man, a puppet. He's more likely to come out with something like the opening post.
  16. I haven't looked at NO in about three or four years.
  17. We may or may not be relegated - or sucked into the relegation battle - but our ambitions clearly don't extend beyond scrapping for survival, which is a shame.
  18. Bizarre innit. Keeper is the one position where we have strength in depth.
  19. No chance. He knew what he was getting into and he knows he'll never get a better job anywhere else.
  20. Good post. Sums up my feelings. If I'm honest I don't think we will be relegated. Bur one or two serious injuries to key players could see us getting pulled into a scrap. The real crushing blow is we were just 3 or 4 signings away from a squad that could challenge for top 6. Instead I reckon we're looking at bottom 6-8 again. A 10-15m net investment would have been enough but after a 30m net inflow in jan we break even this summer. Another dangerous gamble from mike that could come back to bite him on the arse.
  21. You really know how to capture the mood of this place don't you Deano. Twatface
  22. Jesus Tom, I expected better of you. Bendter is shit, people were screwing about Mecheda. Erdinc and Gervinho didn't want to come. Fucks sake man Yeah, you're right. Not in the same league as best, shola and lovenkrands.
  23. That squad contained Enrique, Barton, Carroll and Nolan. I'm not convinced those players have been replaced with better quality in those positions. There were goals in that team too. Where are they coming from this season? Ryan taylor? Maybe give Sammy Ameobi the number 9 shirt.
  24. Oh yeah Deano, I'm chuffed we didn't sign anyone. Fuck off you insufferable fool. Whether we get caught up in the relegation battle or not, one thing is clear - rather than look to progress, ashley has set the stall out to survive. Depressing lack of ambition with 35m in the bank.
