i'm only buying boring stuff at the moment. recent purchases have included: carpets, paint, a sander, and money to a carpenter for built in wardrobes. can't remember the last time i bought anything fun.
-
that's why i stopped bothering with him. i can take the endless repetition of his agrument to a point. it was when he continually made stuff up and accused me of saying stuff i never did (without the proof to support his assertions) that i gave up engaging with him.
-
it's the only way. i've had him on ignore for a while now. improves enjoyment of this place as you can't get sucked in.

i'm pretty sure i know the bit you're talking about. i'd like to see it too if anyone's got a link to a vid...

is that what we're being told though? was there an official line from the club saying the money used to extend those two deals was the carroll cash? as far as i can see it's just speculation from the mirror. i'm not saying they will reinvest all the 35m like - i don't expect them to - but there have at least been more encouraging signs of ambition since the carroll sale.

style tip - use a player's full name on first reference then surname on subsequent mentions. you're writing for a blog, not a newspaper so not that important but if you have ambitions to get into print journalism it's pretty standard.

i'm not convinced the decision to sell him on for a fortune wasn't a pre-mediated and there's no disputing that having him on a long term deal strengthened our hand when it came to shafting liverpool for as much moeny as possible.
-
Was Carroll's new contract aimed at hiking up the transfer fee? arguably, yes. they knew other clubs were interested in him and signed him to a long term deal just months before selling him for a vastly inflated fee.
-
Show of intent if there's truth in it. Rewarding our best players with improved contracts. It's the right thing to do a long as its not a tactic aimed to hike up a transfer fee in the summer ala Carroll.

I think he was referring to the "rather have Larson" comment

i hope that pardew's words of praise are genuine and that he does find room for him in the team. ben arfa can frustrate but there's magic in his boots - he can do things the rest of our players can't. he just needs to play the easy ball a bit more often and not try to do it all on his own every time. some of the skill he showed yesterday and the willing to take on players was a breat of fresh air.
-
i'd like to see a new right winger, right back and centre half brought to the club and no major outgoings.
-
a lot of our best attacking moves came through jonas down the left flank. he's probably the best ball carrier in the side, which goes some way to making up for his inconsistent final balls in.

Newcastle United vs Dirty Inbred Mackems (Sunderland)

classic game of two halves. awful first half, bossed the second. the right result. why did it take 45 minutes for us to start playing? sunderland defended well tbf - better teams would have conceded more than the one goal. -

Newcastle is the region. Newcastle is the capital of the region. Sunderland is to Newcastle what Milton Keynes is to London. It really is a horrible little town - I can understand why so many of you are bitter when you look at how deprived your town is when youve got a town like Newcastle close by. -
Brilliant news with regard to Colo, particularly as he clearly wants to stay. He was one I was worried about. Looks like we might be prepared after all to offer contracts to older senior pros.

Name one way Sunderland's tradition or history is better than Newcastle. Nah, thought not. My condolences for having to live in that hole btw. Easily one of the 5 worst towns in the country. -

the manner in which the two are embracing down front is embarrassing - like they've just won the cup. -
Looking like Ben arfa will be off before long. Pardew blatantly doesnt fancy him and he'll have plenty of suitors.
