If we’re clutching for positives, we drew with Liverpool last season and drew with Liverpool at home so it’s the same combined points to total from those two games. There are much easier fixtures to come and we e started this season playing much more convincingly then we did last season. On the other hand, we’ve lost two titans in midfield, possibly for months, and still haven’t addressed the striker situation. We need to be active in the final week of the transfer window. I hope the chairman saw enough to sanction the signing of new strikers and a midfielder

You could tell Joe knew it was a bad one. The fact Sandro was able to play on for ten minutes after his injury gives me some hope it isn’t a dislocation but the way he was carrying his arm didn’t look great either. If it’s a dislocation it’s usually months out and one those injuries that can quite easily go again 😭

Can’t believe we haven’t got anything out of that game. Better team throughout - even with 10 men we had them pinned back second half. I thought Gordon’s red card was soft but it was rash and he gave VAR a decision to make. I thought Liverpool were rubbish. We outfought them, outran them and looked hungrier throughout. We have a glaring weakness up front and the officials will be against us as they always tend to be in fixtures against the cartel clubs but I’ve got a feeling we’re going to do these. I found the performance at Villa massively encouraging. These lads clearly still bust a gut for the manager, run hard are well drilled and will have a point to prove after all that’s gone on. I expect a quick start and an electric atmosphere. If we can grab a goal or two first half we could do it because I can see us running out of steam second half. The good news on that front is we have good options on the bench now. I hope Eddie uses them if he needs to do and doesn’t leave it too late as can sometimes be the case
