1. Considering I don't think I've ever met you whilst you were sober I'd say that any day/month/season would have it's occasions for getting completely hammered.
2. It's how she got there that worries me.
3. Where's Geordie 'GET OVER IT! HE'S NOT COMING BACK FOR FUCKS SAKE!' Fish when you want to bake him a humble pie, eh?
4. "Look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, don't look around the eyes......"
5. Good for him. Hopefully this means that this pompous cretin will never venture this far north and pollute my lovely city.
6. I've not been to bed in 24 hours and I'm worried in case I wake up later this afternoon to find it was all a dream...
7. Don't praise Souness - you'll be hounded off the board 24916 accordingly to Sky website FFS rolled out the old "I said I loved my wife when I left this morning, so who knows?" line again! Jesus he needs a new script writer eh 24923 That has to be the strangest, darkest metaphor I've ever heard a businessman use (twice). 24930 Nothing surprises me coming from Shepherd. Ruthless businessman, horrible person.
8. Don't praise Souness - you'll be hounded off the board
9. Because he had a Post Office phone account. 24865 Please bear in mind that ignorance is not stupidity! 24904 Nah - that article didn't explain it. "Kevin got the note after he ran up a £360 bill on the Post Office's home phone network. He had switched his BT line to the Royal Mail's service after being promised cheaper calls to his girlfriend in America." From The Mirror..
10. And self-righteousness is never attractive
11. Because he had a Post Office phone account.
12. There is a third camp. The one that I'm in. Souness sceptics. I don't hate him. I don't slag him. I just don't see him turning us around. 24732 *Pitches his tent next to Snakehips* I've said before, at this stage it's a bad idea to get rid. I seem to recall many people saying that he needed a full season, we've had a bad start and now he should go? It's the same situation as letting SBR go this time last year we didn't get what we wanted, so there is little to believe we can do differently now. I don't rate him, but it's counter-productive to constantly slate him. He is what we have, so I plan to at least give him a crack. The results will speak volumes. I'm not saying we should be happy with failure or poor form, but constant negativity is not the answer. I think that many of the player's he's brought in are good choices, especially this summer, so let see what happens over the coming months eh? 24844 No - that's too sensible! You have to decide he's shit and always going to be shit and stamp your feet til someone takes him away and brings us Peyter Reid on a silver platter!
13. All transfer latest from Sky Sports... http://skysports.planetfootball.com/transf...howtransfernews Arsenal getting Poom from Sunderland apparently.
14. Quality. I'm sure someone did something like that on the old board. Can't remember who though. It wasnt in the context of a conversation about a high profile transfer though, it was at the end of a rather embarrasing personal conversation. Come to think of it I think it may have been Gemmill. 24799 It was Dan I think. The 'shout out to the Toontastic crew?'
15. Aye, we'll all wonder where the ferk he learned to play football all of a sudden!
16. Dan, you're not even old enough to buy a pint. Why on earth would I concede that you're right?!
17. Who d'you think yee are like? Alan Oliver? "I know FOR A FACT that Souness had NO INFLUENCE on Mr Owen. The woman who mops the floor in the chip shop where Kluivert used to go said so "
18. so you're a Low Fell girl then? I spent me formative years living on Kells Lane, tell me how is the old place looking this days? 24743 I've only been in Low Fell for 3 1/2 months but Kells Lane is doing just fine. I live at the top of it
19. Said better than I could. 24722 Nee botha kidda! Cath doesnt like being wrong mind so prepare for some histrionics from the Low Fell area! 24729 Cath has an opinion - that's all. And she's more than prepared to stand up for it.
20. When you get home tonight and watch the reports of what happened today, tell me that you aren't proud to be a Newcastle fan and are willing to see what the future brings to this club. Souness is not the best manager we have ever had but he's here and he's trying to do his job. Today he did it quite well, and deserves our backing because he's not going fucking anywhere at the moment. He's not perfect, he's not popular, and he's probably not right in the long run but I think to say he had nothing to do with this signing is bollocks, frankly.
21. I'd have let Spurs have him for £50 and a sherbet dip cos he was never going to fulfill his 'potential' here even if he stayed til retirement age.
22. It was both at different times. Souness and Shepherd got an ovation for what frankly has been a fantastic piece of business. Where's the nightmare? 24661 Fair play to them on the transfer, but I thought the fans were finally seeing sense regarding Souness. 24679 Sense how? He's now the manager that brought Michael Owen to Newcastle United. He's apparently hardly been off the phone to Owen all week and pulled out all the stops. And yet - he still gets slated. Please take your Souness-hating glasses off just for today and look at what just happened.
