  1. the punishment should fit the crime and his fate should be decided by the relatives of everybody who has lost a son in Afghanistan and Iraq, having been invited to burn a poppy in front of them before they cast judgement. The punishment does fit the crime. He burned some poppies, to which I attach no sacred value, and was subsequently fined. He was basically being a complete prat in public and looking for a rise, not behaviour befitting the death penalty imo. What you're proposing has chimes of Shariah Law to it, not my cup of tea Leazes. I realise that universal freedom of speech is not a popular idea in GB, but it's one I believe in, and I think wherever it were to be put into practice it would be a force for good. I think it's been said before like that Leazes would've made a pretty good extremist Muslim if he'd been born by the Indus rather than the Tyne.
  2. I'd pass to no fucker if I was playing on SJP and neebody'd be getting the ball off me either so you'd all want £67 refunds.

I think we might get some wildly inconsistent sentences with the system you're proposing if it were to be rolled out across the Criminal Justice System. What should be the maximum penalty available in your view btw?
  4. you should have texted me Bev, I missed you 'Tut' .....and to think I got all dressed up for nothing for me ? Don't say that, mate. You're not a complete nothing!
  5. McNamee came from Celtic I think. He started at Celtic and went to Hibs where we got him from in 1966.....Ferguson was playing for St Johnstone and Dunfermline around then so he very likely did play against each other....whether either were scared of each other I think it would be difficult to say.... Alex Ferguson, in his book, says that McNamee was built like a man-mountain and after one scuffle/disagreement they had, he sneaked out of the ground because he thought McNamee was waiting for him. This is when he played for Rangers, or Dunfermline as PaddockLad says, I think McNamee was playing for Hibs at that time. Anyway, this is the book, which is very good, one of the best. he mentions him here http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle5026752.ece Good read that Leazes....and I read the fergie book yonks ago, but can't remember much about it, maybe time for a another look at it. The best book I've read about football, actually one of the best books I've ever read is this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Father-Other-Worki...s/dp/0224072676 Gary Imlach used to do the American Football on Ch4. It's like a tribute to his old man, who played for Forest when they won the cup in 59 and for Scotland at the world cup in 58. Think it won the "best sports book award" a few years back. Yeah, in 2005 iirc.
  6. ASM just knows these things, it's one of his gypsy powers. He lies down before it's about to rain too, I've heard tell.
  7. They had him do a drugs test after one of the interviews and he was clean, wasn't he? It's just the residual effects of decades getting so high that you're incapable of ever truly being sober again, see Ozzy It's because, deep down, he's a massive bell-end more like. And to fucking go on about normal people and their "boring lives"- fair do's as I've no doubt there must be elements about his day that must be vastly more interesting than sat at work behind a desk, but have a bit of self-awareness about that at least. You're not in that position because your talent or uniqueness elevates you above the masses (as he clearly seems to believe), it's because you were born into an anomalous life of acting nepotism, where financial reward bears no relation to talent and as such you're constantly out of touch with reality. As is plainly the case here. And what his kids need clearly is a bit of 'boring' parenting. Tbf it doesn't bother me that much because I don't watch 2 and a Half Men , but it's the bit where he's saying anything's ok as long as you're honest about it and it's better than being a hypocrite about it. That's all well and good and in a limited sense he makes a good point because I imagine Hollywood is one of the most hypocritical places outside of mainstream politics, but he needs to be honest about (rather than gloss over the fact) that his approach to parenting is a recipe for fucking his kids heads up. That'd be honest.
  8. me obviously cos i dont even know who paul is. Story checks out. How old were you at your first game against Villa? A. 14 B. 40 C. Wait while I ask my mate in the City top. [subtle/] 13 actually If you're not Paul then welcome to the board!

  10. I dunno, she doesn't look much like Paul. It'd be very subtle for him if she is.
  11. He meant at the start of it, not before the end of it.

Nice Father McGuire reference. That fuck-off massive rollerblade when he's hallucinating going cold turkey!
  13. How's your stool looking today? Stool free so far *Head out of toilet window, beaming away, singing at the top of his voice* "Stool free..free as the wind blows.."
  14. Ydafftwaa . Best clips round along with 'caravan salesman' and 'a team' I think Zero is American like , an American version of Garth Crooks . Aye, I think ASM might be right on that tbh. Though he did say nappy instead of 'diaper' so couldn't say for absolute certain. Zero is definitely Mr Michael Douglas in that scene though, he's wound up to fuck in every post he makes. "He's been stuck in his car and it's a right hot day, so he's got a real nark on, I'm telling yer!" ASM: "Get out of here you daft twat! You daft twat!"
  15. Baseless claims that ASM is Chinese and Year Zero is American, reminds me of Vic and Bob's classic 'Falling Down'.
  16. If anybody's not getting the Alan Partridge/Tony Hayers BBC canteen scene in response to this theres something wrong with them.
  17. "Where the fuck is Dan with that nice bit of stilton he promised us?!"
  18. "Which cretin has pointed the brie?!" etc etc. Seriously though, crossed some sort of line there by the sounds of it Dan.
  19. Some Pinot Grigio / Pinot Gris is really nice but I think it's just most British drinkers like bland shite so that's what most of the stuff you get here is (same reason Carling, Fosters etc is so popular). i just recently discovered dry reisling. like a lot of brits, i naively thought all reislings were sweet and nasty but it's actually an absolutley lush grape. really minerally and crisp with some citrus fruits in there. about £10 a bottle for a good one mind so not cheap but well worth trying if you haven't already. Good work.

Been on the NZ sauvignon blancs for a while now as they deliver precisely that (some more so than others, but theres always enough choice that one of the better bottles is on offer down from a tenner). Will have to give dry resiling a go to see how it stacks up. Would never even have considered it tbh.
  21. Aye. "Do you want to be witness to a murder?" "Errr...no thanks" "It's on the internet!" "Oh now you're talking, what's the link?" Seriously, wtf?
