Simon Weston's after dinner material is a fucking scream FYI. He's set up a website for burns victims to share experiences. It's called Friends Re-Ignited.

Roeder seething tbh. "Glenn Roeder's players are not out of condition. I'm not one for excuses but blah blah blah etc......" -
In the initial response that I typed, I admitted that it mightn't be true, but that it wouldn't surprise me if it was - 70 goals in 90 games between two players is a good partnership, but not totally unbelievable or anything. But I opted instead to take the piss out of the fact that even though you don't believe the stats, you believe that Viduka scored more of the "imaginary" goals than Smith. Just because you've got a downer on the bloke. Well Smith's 38 league goals in 172 league appearances leads me to believe that Viduka scored the majority of goals in their partnership. Yeah but you've only just checked that now. Before you were just making the assumption cos you don't like the bloke. I'm not really arsed though tbh, I just think some people would do well to give a player a chance before just having a massive downer on them. For me, if a player comes here, I'll look on them positively until they give me a reason to do otherwise in a black and white shirt. Despite what the moaning minnies think, I reckon he could go on to become a fans favourite. Scoring a few goals, putting in the odd reducer and working 100% for the entire game ticks all the right boxes.

Why would Heinze come to us when we can't offer him European football? Unlikely to choose NUFC over liverpoo and Madrid wouldn't you say?

Dan, you've been a proper misery this week. What's up, has Allardyce taken a shit in your handbag or something?

Good point. If Milner and the Zogmeister are developed and used properly the departure of Dyer will be no big deal (which it isn't anyway really, because as I said earlier in the thread he only turned up to a handful of games a season).
-
I think he has more of a football brain than Dyer and id definitely a better finisher, however as has been argued elsewhere I don't see this as "simply" a replacement situation. I'd look to Charlie to fulfill the Dyer role (though with more skill) and Smith to offer other qualities. I very much disagree tbh. Imho Dyer has a quite a good football brain with a good positional sense that too often was ridiculed as "just running around". And looking at Smith's goal record I don't know where the bit about his alleged finishing skills is coming from. Smith isn't a bad player but far too much a grafter for my liking. As I said one for the charvers who like their players being dumb, agressive and running around with flying into tackles. As a replacement for Dyer I'd hoped for someone with more football skills and a more creative type of player. Is it set in stone that he is the direct replacement for Dyer (who only put in about 5 or 6 decent performances a season anyway, the rest of the time being ineffectual, anonymous or injured) or is the transfer window open for another four weeks?

That'll make a refreshing change. Am liking the sound of these guys.

I'd be quite happy. I get the impression he's the sort of player Allardyce can get the best out of. Btw, AgentFox, Jimbo's camera phone is our official signing barometer.
