  1. If it's the one with Harvey Keitel, I only watched half of one episode....it was so toe curlingly bad, I switched over and never went back. Might have worked better if I hadn't seen the British version first. Same for The Office.
  2. Might be the victim of an imaginary stick-up. Well now everyone knows he carries 60k in his pocket. Eh? Wrong Nigerian perhaps?
  3. They only go on because they've a divine right to win things
  4. Is she mad ferret then? I'll get me coat.....
  5. I was going to suggest he'd make a good courier but he probably couldn't cross the road.....
  6. Not that we're not lol-tastic on a recurring basis these days and wouldn't love to be in the Europa league....
  7. Harsh but fair. I recall reading that this was pretty much how the negotiation for Seth Johnson's wages with Peter Ridsdale played out at Leeds. The agent went in to bat hoping for something like 10k a week and Ridsdale started the conversation with "I'll not beat about the bush, I'm not going to offer more than 30k a week, take it or leave it."
  8. I've noticed toon managers have seemed to prefer experience over youth for years. Usually meaning playing old knackered players like Butt or players out of position rather than giving a youngster a go. I suppose it's viewed as less risky but it means we're pretty bad at bringing players through from the youth/reserve teams......ironic given this was supposed to be Fat Mike's big idea
  9. actually watching the fucker was worse.
  10. Has it finished yet? Watching the match on BBC livetext is like death by a thousand cuts
  11. Surprised it doesn't involve matches in Italy. Wasn't there a referee whose bribes were paid for in prostitutes or something? And wereren't Juve demoted for cheating?
  12. I'd rather watch repeats of Take the High Road, that sit through 12 hours of that pathetic American bollocks.` That's cos you're a daft cunt. A cunt Stevie may be, but he is so fucking right when it comes to Seinfield. Couldn't agree more. 10 minutes of those smug looking twats cracking on and I'd attack the telly with a baseball bat.
  13. I can't see FIFA doing anything tbh. If the Irish were Swiss, they'd stand a better chance.....
  14. Sounds like he was being blackmailed to me. Probably by someone with his real birth certificate.
  15. Since we sacked Sir Bobby, he'd arguably have more motivation to manage the mackems. I can't think of a single reason why he'd want to manage us at the moment tbh.
  16. Do we have to vote for one of you to be evicted or can we vote for both?
  17. Fit women in short skirts should be enough for you Kitman, you've been in NZ to long if the sheep are looking good Aye they're fit all right! Hmmmmmm, she wants me
  18. The "All Whites" success was fantastic. It received massive coverage on the news and in the papers. As far as Billy Castell's comments, I think he's right in the sense that rugby (union and league) and netball have always been top dog. That's because these are only the sports in which they've consistently been up there with the best. However there's been genuine pride and excitement at the football here - Kiwis love their sport and love their sportspeople to success. Not that I can see any reason to follow netball, or shot put for that matter. There'll be a big support for the world cup too, but I expect it'll fall away to nothingness after that when the 2011 rugby world cup gears up in NZ. There's no roots for football here - 1 professional team which is poorly supported in terms of numbers and a nation of 4 million people with very little interest in attending football matches. But it's a massive to qualify, regardless of who they played.

I reckon music and films were better when the Halls and Shepherd in charge. I don't expect those who criticise the old Board to realize this. Arseholes.
  20. I'm surprised the Rugby League Challenge Cup was on the list of crown jewels.
  21. Bloody OOTs trying to join our league This proposal was all about Rangers and Celtic getting their piggy snouts in the trough. They've been rightly sent packing imo. They've got absolutely nothing to do with English football, nor should they, and just because they've run out of money in their own poxy league is no reason to join ours. It's ironic that Gartside is bleeting on about the Premier league becoming less and less competitive, and cash should be spread more evenly, whilst endorsing a move that would presumably spell financial death for the SPL. How would he feel if the Big 4 in England took themselves off to play in a super league, leaving Bolton to play the likes of Hull, Wigan and Everton week in, week out. Bloody hypocrite.
  22. He's already played for Italy. Are you sure you don't mean Almunia? Interesting, didn't know that. I thought he was mentioned in the same breath as Almunia as a candidate for England, given the current incumbents aren't good enough. Hey ho, it's all moot now. Hope he makes a full recovery, he probably had a good 4 or 5 years left in him before the Barry Sheen impersonation.
  23. Well I suppose that ends the speculation over whether he'll play for England.
