Newcastle takeover groups earmark Alan Shearer as long-term manager

That's still a better ratio than Butt. Our 47 year old midfield dynamo -
Takeover progressing well, Llambias tells Shearer

How long have they been moving ahead? I'm still wondering whether Llambias has begun to consider relegation from the Premier League might be a possibility yet -
The place would be like a soup kitchen, with assorted bums, tramps, winos and pikeys turning up for their free scran. And Parky. "Today's reading comes from Paul's letter to the Corinthians" From the back "Hoy fuck that shit. Where's the beer and sarnies you promised ya nonce?!" Happy Sundays everybody Blessed are the meek and the needy for they shall inherit the earth, especially if that includes free beer. Some of them are very good at chess. There's needy and then there's smelling of piss. And that's just the parishioners.

Surprised Allardyce isn't in for him actually. -

FYP Be hilarious if they pay good English dollars for him though! It'll go straight into the save the whale fund. Where's a Japanese "scientist" when you need them?

It would seriously cheer me up to see players like Nolan leave. For money.
-
That's the best ever. I bet the players were mortified. The straight ones that is.

Perhaps a small ode is fitting: We say goodbye to Ed Mcmahon We heard his death with sorrow The show he hosted was Tonight And now he's no tomorrow I'll get me coat

Deary me. You should concentrate on the characters. Princess Lay Her. Girth Vader. Oh Big One Ker-nobby. Luke Shirtlifter. Jabber the Butt. Hand Solo. Or maybe not

Very similar to the Times version of events. ST tickets sales can't be going well then. -

- on the plus side, it's George Caulkin. - on the minus side, no quotes and wor Derek is full of bullshit. No need to get the bunting out just yet. -
Is there any room to walk in your house?! Or are things piled up into aisles?

When I was young I had a large collection of comics - Marvel, 2000 AD, Commando. My mam threw them all out when I went to college. Wish I still had them now.

Have no regrets - people with firsts generally have no life experiences worth speaking about.

Well you can only say with hindsight it was a lousy signing. It was those serious injuries (foot/knee) that did for him, if he hadn't had those he would still have got injured imo but with the sort of muscle niggles Martins gets. The sad thing is that he's sucked away huge amounts of money on transfer fees and wages that could have been used to strengthen the team. Still, that's not his fault, and we'd have probably wasted the money on more JFK "bargains" anyway.

tbh I was hoping for a period of anonymity

I know what you mean. I looked at their criticism of Owen and I thought, well he's no different to the rest of the mercenaries really. but that was his only problem during his time at Newcastle so far as I'm concerned. I really went off him when he turned out for England v Sweden in 2006 and did his knee. He freely admits he wasn't fully fit and yet he still turned out notwithstanding he'd been out for ages before that with his metatarsal. He was never the same player afterwards and to me that episode illustrated how little he thought of NUFC. I don't blame him for wanting to play for his country but he must have known the risks he was taking when he wasn't fit. England's Michael Owen.

He has also been known to imbibe beer with MVB. I'll always be grateful to him for inventing sliced bread too.

The club's like the Titanic, looks like we've got the deckchairs to match now.
