As much as it pains me to admit this I have to agree with stevie, I fucking hate the term Mag! It's the toon. The rest of stevie's post is the usual shite so I can feel better about not agreeing with him completely. It would have been around the mid 70s when I first started playing football. Saturday afternoons on the ABC the old man and I would watch the English football highlights program, his way of making sure I was even more enthused about the game. Then one day he told me I should pick a team, so being born in Newcastle of course I picked them, how was I to know at that age it wasn't the same Newcastle. So since then I've always supported the toon. In the 80s when football almost died a death and we didn't get even a highlights package, I'd still search out their results in the newspaper every Monday or Tuesday, if I was lucky there might be a couple of lines in a story on the weekend’s results. Occasionally if we were really lucky you’d get an article in the Australian Soccer weekly. I suppose that gives me a magness of -459 but fuck it, I can't stand Collingwood.

Funnily enough I'm a huge fan of a lot of flying nun bands. The chills, the gordons > bailter space, headless chickens, Straitjacket Fits and the verlaines (funny that hey Ben) were all great NZ bands but most of them didn't actually get recording contracts with flying nun until they relocated to Sydney or Melbourne. And let's be honest it was only a 3 - 5 year period that Flying Nun was making a difference. I think you'd find a lot of people would disagree with you about how prolific the Triffids were song wise. If you get a chance listen to Love in bright landscapes, Born sandy devotional & In the pines again. Obviously they're not as poppy as the Go-betweens but for two bands that come from the same era they have so much in common but are worlds apart. As for the Lucksmiths, I know you like the obscure but that is really just trying to hard. From that time, early 90s to now, you'd really should try Custard, Spiderbait, Reguritator, The Fauves, Hard ons, etc, etc. Personally I'd recommend working your way through the White, Citadel, Redeye, Au Go Go Records, missing link and Rampant labels catalogues before you even contemplate trying to stand by the NZ over Aust comment. Lastly the Hoodoo Gurus can be summed up best in their first album Stoneage Romeos, no not the 2002 re-release version either. After that it was all downhill. Lucksmiths aren't half as obscure as the bands you mentioned as alternatives. Seriously not trying to start an argument but no they aren't. They are/were all bands that are regularly in the indie/alternative charts. In this country the only song I can think of by the Lucksmiths that has received any sort of radio airplay is T-shirt weather.

Aye, spot on. Had the misfortune of a family like that in front of me in the queue at the check-in desk on Monday morning. Archetypal middle class families (like these) seem to be really bad for not keeping their kids in check I find. I had to behave if I was at a restaurant or whatever when I was a bairn or we wouldn't go back. It's hard to contain my glee when they trip up or something and start screaming which is canny bad really as it's the parents fault. At that point I just look at the parent and tell them if they weren't such fuck heads we wouldn't be enjoying their brats screaming now days - we live in hope they might finally learn but I doubt it.

Would you rather she just told you your penis is too small? At least that would've been a better grounds for ending it. Can't say I've ever had any complaints from anyone mind. Don't worry Brock, they're just being to polite to mention it. People who let their children scream and run havoc in restaurants or cafes. And if they smile about it thinking it's cute it's grounds to smack the smirk off their face.

Milan's canny, the town where the airport is (Bergamo) is lush, but not for your lads weekend - take your lass some other time. Brussels is far from being the most boring place on earth it's a class city, you could travel to Antwep or Ghent for a change, it's not far. What about Poland? Some cracking places there. We went to this shitty little backwater called Szczecin a year ago, nowt to do but drink. It was a cracking unknown place we only saw one othe english person. But there are loads of other cool (beter) citys What exactly is class in Brussels? The front carriage of the TVN as you head out to Amsterdam

Sorry it was late and a school night so I had to walk away from this last night. The problem is HF, things within the club have changed and changed considerably to the point of where Allardyce was a great signing by Shepherd, he's totally the wrong manager under Mort and Ashley. The expectation of the club has changed from consolidation and slowly rebuilding to let's build an exciting team now. And I just think the task is beyond Allardyce and like that feeling we all had that Souness would be a failure, I get that with Allardyce because he's exhibiting similar traits. By the way I don't want him sacked, I actually would like to see him rebuild the clubs infrastructure behind the scenes. I just want him away from the first team management and not making the decisions regarding first team transfers.
