The advantage of the baritone is the fixed bridge and the humbucker pick ups but the sound should be similar to the Bass VI. Is it worth getting a normal jag, most definitely. When I was gigging regularly I had gibsons, rickenbackers, japanese brand guitars, even a vox teardrop and as amazing as some of the guitars were the best guitar I owned, sound and playing wise, was a beat up late 60s jag (not even a pre-CBS which are what people rave about). Black with black pickguards, covered in stickers (decals) cool as shit. It was strung with a .65 bass string for the E string (wish I never sold it now). If you want a warmer sounds buy a jazzmaster - same guitar but with the fender twin coil pick-ups.
