  1. See now this is odd, I've just had word that the guy/consortium involved is South African, known to Sir John Hall and something to do with diamonds - vague but it does seem that something's afoot.
  2. What happened to this embargo?
  3. RIP Sir Bobby, very upsetting news but happy that he enjoyed his charity match only days before passing. A real gentleman, legend and inspiration - he'll be greatly missed.
  4. Honestly, couldn't care one jot what other fans or media think. Keegan would sell seats, play great football and with the right backing get us up and back into Europe, guaranteed. Do you think before you die, you will actually get it in your head that WE DONT FUCKIN CARE??!?!?!! I'm quite flattered people think we're important enough to hold a strong opinion about. Agree 100%. The sheer glee of the average fan who thinks he's a comedy genius for repeating some tired cliche about us is like watching a pissed bloke suddenly see a kebab shop when he wasn't expecting to see one. The upside is that it makes me feel thankful for the superior intelligence, reasoning and class I possess over them, plus the relief that I support a club that actually means something. I think that's it , I couldn't give a flying chuff what fans of other teams think. Other fans would kill for the connection felt with the club and manager we've had when Keegan's been in charge, the sheer delight and excitement of it all - no other team's had that and it boils their piss
  5. That's a hard one, there's pros and cons of each: Shearer - Pros: Probable long term manager, discipline, a level head. Cons: Unproven. Keegan - Pros: Total excitability, motivation, good with transfers. Cons: Temperamental. Jeez, what a choice! We'd get mocked stupid but I can't help thinking that even though I do want to see Shearer as manager at some point I couldn't possibly turn down the chance to have that excitement Keegan brings in again, I've never truly loved being a Newcastle fan as much as when the Keegler's in charge.
  6. Indeed, Parky could be on to something with this endgame mularky
  7. Good work dude, it's much clearer.
  8. Heard about this sort of thing before, there was a programme about it on the tele not long back too - scary shit.
  9. Yep, it's bound to be another story put out there to dash us Toon fan's dreams when he comes out and publically denies it all. ... but what if?
  10. He looks like a long haired streak of French piss, he'll last five minutes over here if he tries any of that shit
  11. Ooo, something to get our hopes up ...
  12. Needs to be a shouter
  13. FUYP. Don't be daft, there won't be a NUFC to own in 2020
  14. I read that title as 'Grandad' found at Dalglish's house
  15. I used to live in Helensburgh a few years back, it's more likely to be some local youth disguised as a panther in an attempt to rob somewhere.
  16. The missing piece of the jigsaw?? As Ashley would be the major creditor, administration would seem an odd move financially. But Ashley could probably take his losses at Newcastle, which would be close to £250m, and set them against profit at his other companies, such as Sports Direct. Ashley’s tax liability would then be reduced and his loss not so great Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...0#ixzz0MVHJ6NSx This thing about offsetting losses is likely to be a load of rubbish btw. He only owns 57 per cent of Sports Direct iirc, so he would be benefitting the other 43% SD shareholders and getting nothing from them in return. Also iirc there are all sorts of restrictions around offsetting losses between companies (which I won't bore you with) and you need to have a common corporate shareholder between SJH and SD to do it. Anyway only a complete madman would think making losses in one company to get a reduction in the tax bill of another was a good thing. Hang on a minute..... The Profitable Group have now ended their interest in buying Newcastle. Its looking like either Freddie or Administration now! No great surprise about Profitable. I wonder if they were ever serious bidders, given the amount of wind and piss they spouted in the press. Yeah, it's not really that much of a development tbh.

So there you have it, the answer to what's going on - we can now look forward to a 10pt deduction and no players - at least whoever buys the club after that will be able to start with a clean slate I guess. I hope karma gets Ashley for what he's done to our club, as a Spurs fan I'm sure he won't give a shit.
  18. I think he announced the sale to take himself out of the firing line as well as steering clear of having to do anything pro-active during the summer. Saying the club was for sale as he did was the dumbest option as it removed most of his bargaining power in one swathe as well as inviting negative eyes at our situation. I can't believe you'd suggest that Ashley would do anything dumb, what? Such an astute businessman? Surely not
  19. Al Fayed at Fulham. I was going to say Shepherd... but then I remembered he'd look like he'd make an arse of it and probably would. It's a thin line but I'd still take him of Ashley though.
