  1. Why the hell not? Its a great competition and Newcastle have a great history in it I'd take the FA Cup over promotion any time
  2. Well done Tim, and hopefully the Cockney banner will also make another appearance. The more banners and the more offensive the better, he needs to know we wont quieten down just because we are top of the league. The sight of him sitting there laughing on Monday night was sickening
  3. People may not like him but its good to have someone with strong and often controversial opinions who says what he thinks. It would be a boring world if everyone was frightened of opening their mouth for fear of upsetting or offending someone. Unfortunately thats the way most people in sport are - polite, play safe, don't upset anyone - the Jamie Redknapps of this world who come out with crap like he will be disappointed with his performance when what they really mean is his performance was an abismal pile of shit. Keane would be a good tv pundit I reckon - not likely to happen though
  4. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...aODA&pos=11 Religion and Capitalism - what an horrific mix of the greedy and the hypocritical
  5. Shame to see Alan Shearer advertising for a shit, right wing, Tory comic like the Sun
  6. Swansea sold out their allocation weeks ago. I know a Swansea fan at work who tried to get a ticket over a month ago and it was already sold out. He's coming up with his son and sitting by me. Should be a cracking atmosphere plus they are on a really good run
  7. Ashley may well be incompetent, but its more sinister than that because no one can be in any doubt now that his motivation is, at least in part, to deliberately antagonise the supporters
  8. Very good post, I agree with all of it. Ashley has set the club back by 10 years, maybe more. Things will continue to get worse as long as he's here and once he's gone its going to take years and years to repair the damage. I heard quite a few fans taking the piss out of Scunthorpes ground and set up last night, a what the fuck are we doing here attitude. I think they had better get used to it.
  9. Has to be Come Back - The Mighty Wah
  10. Spot on that is As Robert Tressel sort of said (but not in these exact words). These wankers, if they could bottle the air we breath they would do it, and they would fucking sell it to us, and when your on your knees gasping for your last breath they would give you some for free. And you would be so grateful to them. Cunts
  11. He was promoting his new book (The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution) on Real Time with Bill Maher last week. Pissed me off that he reduced the wars in the middle east to an entirely religious thing. As if enforcing secularism is a way to bring about world peace. I'm an atheist, and I'm all for ridiculing religion at every opportunity, but I'll respect anyone's right to be a fucking idiot. True enough it wouldnt bring about world peace, but I reckon if everyone was an atheist it would certainly help

That's not what I've herd. Any more puns like that and this thread will be well and truly cattled. You cud be right there, mind. What a pat reply. How dairyou! No need to take a fence. Fucking hell. I think we should stop. Now. I think this has been milked for all its worth
  13. God Delusion - Richard Dawkins. I think I was an atheist before I picked the book up, but I sure as hell am now
  14. ''Brummiemag'' Well I have my reasons for supporting them, not least because I used to live in Newcastle as a kid. And Ive never been called a glory hunter before!!
  15. This wasnt at St James Park, but the best away fans I've seen in the last couple of years were the Port Vale fans at Shrewbury Town last year. They were bottom of League 2 at the time and although its probably only 30 or 40 miles away I reckon they brought a good 2,000 fans to Shrewsbury. We stood with them, they made loads of noise, had fans on the pitch when they scored, all in all very impressive, as is often the case with some of the so called smaller clubs. It was proper local and loyal support - no glory hunting wankers amongst them lot
  16. It makes me sick and angry to think if it wasnt for Ashley acting like an arrogant arsehole, Keegan would be our manager and in all probability we would be playing entertaining attacking football and pushing for a Europa League spot this season. We are years and years away from that now. Ashley has set the club back by a decade or probably more
  17. Well done Kev, as far as i am concerned your entitled to every penny
  18. I seem to spend quite a bit of time arguing with people on Newcastle online. The trouble is when you read posts on there calling Keegan a cunt, or a bigger cunt then Ashley, its hard to keep calm and ignore it
  19. Briliant article, sums up my feelings about Keegan completely
  20. I understand what you and Geordie Lad are saying but I guarantee that if we are back in the top flight next season a lot of people will still not want to take the cup competitions seriously as no doubt they will then be saying survival is the priority and so it goes on. For me the excitement of a cup game (particularly the FA Cup) beats the league games any day but if we and most other teams don't it seriously then it will soon be a thing of the past
  21. Very disappointed that we are playing a weakened team tonight although no one else seem to be bothered- we used to have a tradition in cup competitions - looks like we're the new Bolton Wanderers
  22. Well, I've yet to see evidence at SJP this season. Reading's support was embarassing. Leicester at least stood up, but sang naff all and Sheffield Wednesday had the numbers but made no noise. Huddersfield were the best, I think. I'm not saying we're unique as a fan base, I'm saying I don't understand why anyone would travel for so long only to stand and watch the match in silence. It takes so little effort to sing, yet people seem more fucking interested in chatting on their phones or fucking off downstairs half an hour into the game. I sort of agree with part of what your saying, but personally I wouldn't be telling people who travelled all the way down to Cardiff on a Sunday afternoon to fuckoff and watch it on the tv just because they choose not to sing - some of those fans who choose not to sing will no doubt be some of our loyalist and lets be realistic, our away support is not as big as it used to be I agree that we have a unique fan base as well, we are amongst the most passionate and proud in England, I think more than anywhere else (in England) the club represents the area, the people and the history. I also think we have the most boozy fans as well! Ive been to quite a few games not involving newcastle over the years though, often at a lower level, and some of those away fans have been superb in terms of backing their team
  23. Alright, say we were 1-0 down, up against it, hostile home crowd. You're trying to sing to get behind the lads, surrounded by about 30 Mags who are with their girlfriends and won't sing. You think that's okay? Our home atmosphere is getting better by game because everyone in the L7 corner makes an effort to sing. Our away following should be the same. If they don't want to contribute, they should fuck off and watch it on the box. That last sentence is utter bollocks. I sing at the matches and I was singing at Cardiff yesterday but I would never criticise people who don't. Anyone who travelled down to Cardiff to see a game thats live on tv deserves credit in my opinion. Your earlier comment about thats what distinguishes us from other fans is also wide of the mark. Whilst we are one of the best in terms of creating atmosphere, there are plenty of other groups of away fans who are just as noisy as us, particularly outside the premiership. Your kidding yourself if you think otherwise
