  1. Fun and games at Cardiff http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24454963
  2. So since 1950 they're 95% certain, yet: "It adds that a pause in warming over the past 15 years is too short to reflect long-term trends." The pause is too short to have any meaning, yet, said pause is 20% of the period over which they are 95% certain..................... Aye OK
  3. I do, for the first 10 years of my working life, I worked in debt collection dept of one of the major utilities, I very well know the difference between the can't payers and won't payers. I strongly suspect it's the latter who get into trouble with Wonga and their ilk, I also suspect many of the former actually benefit from having the likes of Wonga around in getting over short term hurdles because a lot of those folks aren't thick and actually would know what they're getting into and would do it based on a rationalised decision. As for "no fault of their own" I absolutely know that happens, was almost at the brink myself many many years ago during a legal case as the plaintiff, which I've described on here before, and the "institutions" were less than fucking sympathetic (despite preceding years of exemplary track record). To be honest, a Wonga back then would have been a godsend, on a couple of occasions, and would have been used properly and would have saved a lot of the shit and stress we went through for a period.
  4. And yet Wonga make HUGE profits, which means most folks can, and do, pay them back. For many they provide a useful service because the mainstream banks (many of which dwarf Wonga's profits) won't step into the breach. If there wasn't a Wonga who would put food on the kids table when cash has run out. Far less misery/lives destroyed by the likes of Wonga (if indeed any are) than booze and bookies and that's indisputable IMO.
  5. Great stuff MF, spent loads of time down the fish quay when a nipper, remember some of those boats, especially the bigger trawlers, there were two of them almost identical, green hulls, cream upper-works and red funnels and lots of rust, I all but saw that particular photo in colour when it came up, mental old git !!! Oh Aye, Brimms cranes were red
  6. Eyebrows! EYEBROWS! think of poor Duncan Goodhew (that said he probably had a cock)
  7. Yes, if you take it out of the context in which it was meant.
  8. Was bound to, the only vestige of any influence in the middle east/med that they have left.
  9. I think that's now the truth of it, in terms of, he's now in a place where it's absolutely no "fun", in fact he probably hates it, the stick he gets, the agents and all the s*** that goes around (who's fault that is, is irrelevant) and continuing, with any ambition, is likely to be nothing but very expensive for no guaranteed return. I reckon he's got to the stage of "f*** it" to the point that he wants his wedge back asap at which point he'll get shot if he can, but until then it won't cost him a penny if he can possibly avoid it. We're screwed in the meantime. Bit like buying your dream house but then finding out it's a total money-pit and the neighbours hate you, but you've got it habitable and you can rent it out and recover something.
  10. Of course there is, let's put ticket prices up to the equivalent of Spurs/Arsenal, that'll work well.
  11. It's profitable now, it's not a "worsening" financial position by any stretch and is definitely in that respect, a financial turnaround any way you want to slice it. Whether said profits go back in, of course, is an entirely different matter.
  12. Isandwhala I believe, "no ammunition without a chitty boy" hard to open ammo boxes didn't help. Rourke's Drift hugely bigged up to brush aforementioned massacre out of the headlines, incredible bravery irrespective of that though. Zulu best "war" film ever tbh Lots and lots of those already mentioned to which I would add, The Cruel Sea, Ice Cold in Alex and Reach for the Sky. (oh and Battle of Britain, just to watch/see the planes)
  13. Whilst not making any sense in the real world, the JFK thing could make sense in a parallel universe where he's brought in to make the positions of who Ashley wants gone untenable and to clear house. Expect Dennis Wise now !!!!
  14. Very good Based upon observations of Cisse, I Believe Sharia offside applies the same rules as for Muslim women walking behind their men, so Cisse gets 3 yards ahead of the infidel, only has to be level with a Muslim defender. Chez nailed the serious question btw.
  15. As a total aside - Mate of mine and his Mrs saw Neil Young in the 70's at the City Hall, were sat in the bar debating whether to drink or watch the support (as you do - or as you did back then) decided to sit and drink, as he says they decided at the time "Ah, we'll not bother it's some band called the Eagles, never heard of them"
  16. Not seen anyone for ages (discounting the visit to the Grand Ole Opry) but upcoming - Runrig 40th anniversary gig at Edinburgh Castle on July 20th, train up am, on the sauce, gig, curry, hotel and yem Sunday, should be canny if weathers OK !!!

And......................................... A good PP recipe would be much appreciated, had some great PP in various eateries on our holidays, but to be honest probably the best (amazingly) was some of this we picked up at Wallmart to "give it try", was truly stunningly delish http://jackdanielsme...cts/PulledPork/
  19. I don't presume anything in terms of the data use, i really don't care. The problem is that's always been the case, you only have a problem with this type of stuff if you naively think anyone on the face of the planet is actually free to any great degree, I am of the opinion we are not - hence for example, I can't own a firearm. Cold war quote (I can't remember who from) "The only difference between us and the Russians is, we think we're free, they know they're not". True today as it ever was.
  20. And what buzzwords or hot-words/phrases do said computers search for, thousands likely, multiply by number of times globally the hot-words are committed to (Allah) t'internet (Allah) and your talking fucking massive amounts of sifting, someone at the end of it still has a HUGE mountain to plough through (Allah)
  21. Not at all, I am of the opinion I should be allowed to own a firearm if I so choose, I'm not, I don't lose sleep over it. I do no wrong, nowt to be scared of, except the scum who aforesaid sadly not allowed to have firearm I should be allowed to discharge in their direction should they enter my home.
  22. I care about this, why ???? If they are collecting everything (even this as I type now) that anyone anywhere in the whole world is producing via the social media/computer O/S's etc. in question, even with triggers on buzzwords in search programmes they'd need bazillions of folks employed to go through it. Don't give a shit personally (I'm not a baddy, nowt to hide) they can also stick a drone over my house 24/7/365 for all I care.
