Milner's been playing consistently well (so yeah, not outstanding), despite being so poorly treated months ago, and a lot of the fans have been giving him harsh criticism too.

Taylor's been excellent in recent weeks and really maturing. Compare his performances and leadership to the likes of Bramble and it's just not funny. Frightening to think Roeder was too scared to play him earlier on in this season, because "one bad game doesn't make you a bad defender" - regarsing Titus of course.

I'd have to say Rome's a bit of a dump myself, but there's some great attractions there. -

The furthest away from mhy lovely home in Kent I've been to is Rome, though I've been their twice. So naturally I'd like to go to lots of places. I hope by the end of my life I'd have visited all the exciting cities in the world, as unlikely as it may seem. Then there's all the other fantastic locations around the world anyone would want to go to, such as the Barrier Reef, Grand Canyon etc. While not a huge ambition, I hope to go to more places in the UK too. I've been to Wales countless times so I've ended up feeling sorry for myself, but only been to Scotland once and never been to Northern Ireland, though I have been to Rep. Ireland. As for Venice, I've been there and I'm sure it is expensive, but it's a lovely place nonetheless. Shame nowhere in this country can be bauilt on canals. -
Newcastle United V Manchester United

I'd definitely settle for 1-1, but I'm disappointed they equalised, and it was yet again due to sloppy defending. -
To be fair though is anyone at all really surprised we are in this mess? Anyone can look back through the posts during the transfer window and see that there were concerns going into the season with only 6 recognised first team defenders of whom 4 have consistently been on the treatment table and the other two (Ramage and Taylor) being young boys with little experience at this level. I do not dispute Roeder can be a "nice" guy, however IMO he cannot complain about the lack of players at his disposal as he could have helped prevent something that was so clear to see last August. I am still far from convinced over his managerial ability, but the lack of players is clearly partly the chairman's fault. £15 million is decent backing, but the team needed a lot of rebuilding. Instead we ended up getting a teenager on loan from Man Utd and re-signing a mercenary who hasn't played since his arrival, and won't in the future. He outlined the players he wanted, and was constantly stating he wanted certain players, but no deals went through. This could be down to the chairman refusing to back him. I do however, reckon his inablility to attract a lot of players could be partly a reason. And also he paid £5 million for Duff, whereas the money could have been spent elsewhere, such as on the full-backs, but even so, he's failed to notice how crap they are and instead praises them. Nice guy, but should learn unnecessary criticism isn't a good thing.

Happy New Year everyone.

He does seem like a decent guy, and regardless of his management ability, full credit for not whining about injuries. Curbishley said West Ham have been poor due to injuries. Ashton is a big miss, definitely. But hardly anyone else is missing, and he's still willing to leave Mascherano, an Argentina international regular on the bench. At the same time we've been playing centre-backs from the academy at full-back and a player who wouldn't be in the Premiership if we didn't give him another chance, in centre-mid. And he's done really well too.

Apparently the MOTD annual rated Reina as a better goalkeeper in the world this year, than Shay, who was 14th. Good to see they've got a sense of humour.

Sorry Holden, I think something went wrong and I might have replied to your PM three times by accident. But yeah, cheers...

Should just post it here. By the way, the corner comment was to do with the muppet writing corner instead of penalty, I presume.

This Charlie Henderson bloke a Mackem, or just a cock?

Yup, Martins would have converted it superby if only the sport was rugby.

Good signing if Emre goes - he's better than anyone else in centre-midfield imo, but I'm worried about his behaviour. Would be sad to see Emre go too.

That glass act was scary. His right eye was worryingly close to the glass, and being stamped on woudln't have helped. -
He's had a very good comeback imo, and it's undisputable the ability he has. Just wondering how many games we'll see from him from now until the season ends.
-
I'm sure he's a great prospect, but the wings are the last place that need strengthening.
-
Would post my pic but I'm not one to make people jealous, me being the nice guy that I am.

On a Bosman? Of course, unless his wages are ridiculously high.

It is fantastic. Shame it's always full of convict scum though.

I don't like to pick excuses, but I doubt Ramage would have still scored the own goal if it wasn't for the push from Nolan. With Pav right in front of him he'd have left it I reckon, but Nolan pushed him into both the ball and into Pav, making him unable to reach the ball.
