  1. Agree Sunday looks good. Would really like to see Frankie and the heartstrings, but am on 'showing off the bairn to family' duty this weekend.
  2. Do you own a motorhome CT? There's a place where you can rent them to tour Scotland but unfortunately I'll never persuade Mrs R to slum it in anything less than a 4 star hotel. Must admit, I wouldn't fancy driving it either. But the freedom would be ace. Likewise, my missus would insist on this.. http://jalopnik.com/5147203/volkner-mobil-...-for-12-million
  3. NUST letter If welcomed back with open arms means spat at, then yes.
  4. I fancy a break in Cornwall but don't know if I can afford it - seriously. I'm not driving for 10 hours so by the time I have sorted flights, car hire, accomodation and a food for a week it'd be cheaper to go to many other destinations, with much better weather. You're right like it's going to cost me a fortune. I've been looking at All inclusive deals to the likes of Crete and Egypt, both would be considerably cheaper than the week in cornwall will be.
  5. The other alternative is Air South West, who fly Newcastle to Newquay, return flights start at £75.
  6. imo, Wheaters got the lot for a CB. Big, strong, quick(ish) and good in the air. I reckon he's going to be an England squad regular once Terry and Rio are fucked. A good signing if true, he was in an England squad a while back iirc. Thicker than the last smoggie centre half we had at the club and that's saying something!!
  7. Fuck me the recessions having a real impact on the holiday destinations of TT members. A mate is getting married in Cornwall next month so we're off down there for a week in a cottage.
  8. Wow there is some anti-U2 feeling on this board. Whilst I recognise Bono is a prize cock I thought that it was a real coup for Glasto to have got them to play. Shame if they are replaced by a festival circuit regular.
  9. I played there about 5 years ago, I remember the pitch being very springy, I went up for a header and collapsed in a heap on my back, could barely walk but didn't exactly stick my hand up in the air to come off. It was a fantastic experience.
  10. Hasn't he got 9 in 9 in the qualifiers? I think he'll be alright..
  11. I was there, it was the only game I saw all season. Shame on me. Shame on all XI for a thoroughly inept performance.
  12. Fuck me that's a an ill-conceived punt in the dark
  13. Bit of a cliche but you probably need to think what you really want to do first before you can enable this to happen. Don't panic or feel depressed, but whatever you do don't let it slip either, otherwise your fears will be well founded. Excellent advice. Theres nothing worse than being stuck in a job you dislike with no clear escape route. In my early 20's I sold 3pce suites and used to absolutely detest the job but with a small family, mortgage and recession (Thanks Maggie) I had no choice but keep on at it and only escaped by luck really. Depending what line your in PR can be a really tough job as well. The clients usually want the world for pennies and theres only so many times a contact in the media will run with your newspaper filler. Any chance you could give me a bit more info about your time and experiences in PR? I don't want to write the entire comms/marketing thing off on the basis of a few glum months but I have kind of went into it blind on the basis of having a related degree and I haven't had the chance to chat to someone properly about it as a career. I'd be hugely grateful if you could drop me a PM or something. 2 penneth for what it's worth. I am a former journalist turned PR. I loved the former, but the latter is just a job. But it's a good job that will pay the bills, even if you can get in to journalism you might have to wait a while to get to a point where the money is sufficient to make ends meet. I jumped ship after getting impatient for that point to arrive. Most of the people I worked with at the time have done similar. I started off in-house and then switched to agency and am now going back in house. Of the two an in-house role is more secure and arguably less demanding. I haven't enjoyed agency as you have little control over your destiny, good ideas trampled on by clients, recession meaning even though you're doing an excellent job the client dumps you. People misinterpreting EU law and making you tender for every piece of work (regardless how small). There are two ways of going about it for me, either specialise in something you like (sport, entertainment, fashion for which you'll need London) or be a generalist and move around quickly and that way up the ladder. I have found a niche in environmental PR that is starting to pay off, but it took 5 years to make it to PR manager.
  14. Joe Ledley is being linked on Tribalfootball. Out of contract at the end of the season, I imagine he'll sign another deal at Cardiff if they get promoted like. I honestly have no idea if he's any good at all.
  15. I would describe my mood as grouchy. The bairn is not following the accepted convention that night time is for sleeping and as a consequence me and the wife spent most of the night awake, trying to get him to nod off. Sleepy
  16. Down South Love the The Pot Kiln, near Yattendon Hideously touristy but I like the Argyll Arms just next to Oxford Circus tube Up North The Tyne is a favourite on a Sunday afternoon Free Trade for the view The Badger for food The Twin Farms, cos it's the local
  17. Ignore him / her....Theres no such thing as depression. Read Tony Robbins. There you go Craig, all you have to do is fill a room of your house with mirrors, then gurn at yourself all day- ffs.............. Hope things perk up for you soon. Ignore the window cleaner Craig...... Get the book, awaken the giant within (ebay a few quid or pm me your adress and I'll send you mine) think you can even download it now. Lots of sceptics but it will sort you out, guaranteed. A rather simplistic approach. The issue being depression will pretty much strip you of the motivation to do anything, let alone read a book and help yourself. Don't get me wrong Tony Robbins is fantastic, I've been to his seminars and he has the ability to make a real difference (whether it's lasting is a different question). Like most things though unless you want to help yourself there is little that anyone else can do. I went to see a hypnotherapist and he helped me come through a low-point. The missus used to be on anti-depressants and my advice would be to avoid them if possible - very addictive and lead to quite horrid mood swings. Regardless, Good luck Craig.
  18. That's taken three days to find, and I've still cheated!! Motorcycle and sidecar Now find someone playing a musical instrument.
  19. It's like comparing chalk and cheese. I'm not sure how well Keegan would cope in the situation Hughton found himself in (i.e. no money and a squad in mental tatters). Likewise, we'll probably never know what Hughton could do with all the money he wants and a Premier Division in which it was a damned sight easier to get results.
  20. Been relegated a few times hasn't he? Never looked anything special whenever I saw him playing in the championship. Only saw this now. He was shocking 1st half last night, I thought he was going to hand it to Athletico single handedly. Composed himself a bit more 2nd half, but fair play to Hodgson for getting a team containing Baird, Nevland and Etuhu to the final. What struck me was how little pace that Fulham had and by contrast how much pace Athletico had.
  21. I got the job anarl. Now just sitting here stewing before telling my current employers. You don't work with Trophyshy do you? (Congrats by the way) I did find a shit in my lunchbox and piss in my coffee. Anyway told my two bosses and they haven't thrown me out, which is positive. Work for a three man organisation, which makes this kind of thing very difficult cos I'm very aware of what effect my leaving could have on the company.
  22. Given that Forest aren't going up, it'll be interesting to see what the likes of Gunter / Perch do. If we had any money I'd have either!
  23. He pointed out that you were under-resourced and that your work was suffering as a result. If you get extra staff - he's done you a favour.
  24. I got the job anarl. Now just sitting here stewing before telling my current employers.
