  1. That's quite a range. (Or was that on the old board?) I was talking about the old board but aye, same applies... (wasn't that one something to do with Jill?)
  2. It's no personal attack on him at all, it's just passed into TT folklore in the same way 50 cent, Vitor Baia 99, Mendieta won the CL, etc has in the past... For the record, I don't suppose J69 remembers that the Vitor Baia gag was born out of a piss take of a few posters, me being one of them!
  3. So long as we've secured the important ones, eh.... We need to make sure there's no rope anywhere near MattM4 like....
  4. His kids aye. His wife though? She's still making money out of him even now. When he hit the papers last time round when he was sectioned she was in the tabloids within a few days going on about how she wanted to help him etc. iirc. Wanted to make some money more like. if i was her and had an alcoholic wife beater for a husband, i'd probably look to bleed a little cash out of him as well. people are quick to have a go at his missus but you have to look at what he's put her through too. tbf she admitted herself that he did all that long before she married him but she still went ahead with it under the mis-aprehesion that he'd change. The £ signs were a bit too appealing if you ask me - what's more, they still are!
  5. The penny finally drops...
  6. True. He wasn't one for tactics or worrying about what the opposition were doing. Todays namby-pamby millionaire probably wouldn't know how to take him either. I think Peter Taylor should probably get a bigger mention in the pages of history than he does too. Agree about those books too. Should have been made England manager in 1978 instead of Greenwood IMO but the shite-laddened FA would never accept him. Cunts.
  7. some people have short memories......
  8. Let me get this straight, you want someone to advertise a piece of cracked software? Get out of here - thread locked
  9. I think Mason got it bang-on when he said the only reason the daughter wanted to go was because it was Portugal and a 'free holiday'... Didn't like that, did she?
  10. To be fair to him, he's 13 years old and no recollection of what his Dad achieved in the game. He's every right to form his own opinions of him and base them on the interactions that Paul has had with him, his siblings and his mother. Don't lose sight of the fact that, despite the fact the two elder children were not Gazza's, he took them under his wing and brought them up instead of their biological father - there'll be a real sense with those two of the need to repay him in some way - also they're older (21 and 18) and able to understand what is going on more. All Regan sees is his Dad being an alcoholic abusive man who has beaten his mother and rarely seen his only biological son when he has been sober. He obviously feels totally let down by him. It's no wonder he feels the way he does when he recites memories of Gazza eating a bag of sweets, throwing up in the bag and then continuing to eat them. Paul Gascoigne is one of the most (if not THE most) talented footballer I ever had the pleasure to watch in the flesh. The fact that his life has turned out the way it has is extremely sad. However, if this wasn't Gazza and simply a 'Joe Bloggs' with a drinking and mental health issue, people would probably pat the kid on the back for being strong-willed and forming his own opinion. I do place the blame at his mother's door somewhat for agreeing to this carry on - there's no way that TV cameras should have been brought into what is patently a mental sick man fighting his demons. He's still alive, still sick and more than likely has seen this programme - I just hope it doesn't have an adverse affect on him.
  11. Don't see the need tbh. Surely we could do what we did against Sheffield Wednesday back in 1993 and wear our away kit?

    not on your own tbh

Seems they're 'experimenting' with some new flavours.... Might buy a box when they come back in stock - pretend to the lads at work that I'm being generous and buying some sweets in
  14. Rob W will be back to discount all this man.... they were dead within 4 seconds, obviously....
  15. Pretending he's ITK in regards to club matters when he most clearly isn't IMO. The theory behind some of his substitutions leave a lot to be desired too.
  16. I, like a fool, was sucked into his tripe first time around and I'll be fucked if i'll buy into it a second time. All I'd ask is that he shows where it counts. Well he's got the next 28 days to prove so..... Anyone willing to 'give him time' after that needs their fucking heads examined.
  17. Agree with this and tbf we know fuck all at the moment about what went on(*). Being charged suggests that the CPS feel they've got something they can use against him but even then it's not clear cut at this stage that he's guilty of something. What riles me is the inconsistancy of the FA. Some of you are naturally making comparisions to the incident with Joey Barton last year. More comparable is the incident with Jonathan Woodgate and Lee Bowyer about 6-7 years ago. They were both charged with assault, actioning actual bodily harm and affray - exactly the same as Gerrard has been charged with now. Back then though, the FA decreed that being charged with such offence was reason enough to exclude both players from selection from the England squad. Yet this time, they don't feel the need to exclude Gerrard from selection. Can only lead to one of 4 assumptions: 1) They've had some exclusive insight into both incidents and are able to differentiate between the two. 2) They feel they've 'learned from their mistakes' in excluding Bowyer and Woodgate until they were tried. 3) They feel that as Gerrard's incident had no racial connertations, it doesn't deem action as strong. 4) They feel that Steven Gerrard would be a bigger performance loss to England than the other two were. We all know they'll argue that it's point number 2 when in reality it's almost certainly point number 4. They're still spineless fuckers, despite all that's gone before... (* - FWIW I've used this same argument with the scousers who are absolutely insistent that Gerrard is innocent...)

    SBR Day

It was said all along that the buckets were going to be at the gallowgate end... I stuck a couple of quid in at about 11.45 but when he rattled the bucket it sounded shamefully empty. Bit of a damp squib really, not helped in any quarter by the announcement made a couple of hours earlier..
  19. BTW I'm staying in the apartments next to Tilley's Bar... Not many people walking up the hill to moan thankfully... Last thing we need to see now is the chav mongs. Today is about SBR and it should remain that way. Leave any demos for the next home game.
  20. Far removed from whether we are happy or not, I am most definitely not, his timing is appalling. The club knew fine well that we'd arranged SBR day today and that the fans voices we're going to be directed in tribute to a great man - even the Liverpool fans are with us on that one. In essence he's asked us to choose between going with what we've planned and what we now feel. The man's an absolute cunt - more so now. If he does ever want to be accepted then surely Wise should go?

    Jesus Christ!

Ask Rob W... enjoyed the last supper with him by all accounts.
  22. Happy xmas all - fingers crossed we all have a better 2009
  23. But would things have went that way if he was here? Fucking hell man are you suggesting it all turned to shit in the couple of weeks between Mort leaving and KK quitting? A couple of weeks? Didn't Mort leave in either May or June. Was July wasn't it?
