A true legend to the sport and IMO the most deserving football knight of them all (and that's despite my bias). So sad to see him so frail and the surgery has so evidently taken its toll but the twinkle is still in his eye and most definitely will be til the day he pops his clogs. Seems hard to imagine that only 3½ years ago he was commanding the technical area at SJP. I did notice that NUFC didn't get a mention - whether that is to do with the fact that acrimonious way he left is still leaving a bitter taste in his mouth or whether he's just completely forgotten, who knows. I had the tears in my eyes and the lump in my throat and i'm not ashamed to admit it. He may have only been officially connected to NUFC for 5 years but we all know that deep down he is one of us. About time the club game him some proper fucking recognition of it too but no doubt they'll wait until he's no longer here to appreciate it.

As far as I am concerned, the story is pure press bullshit... however........... If Sam has decided that he's taking them away between christmas and new year for some sort of boot camp rather than giving them 'time off', then there's no complaints from me.. Blackburn excepted, the recent performances have been woefully inadequate and there's justification two fold: 1. They don't deserve time off... 2. They need to work on their training. Any player kicking off about that can fuck off IMO.
