Because the very reason they moved to two changes a year was because there are more new cars on the road these days than there would be available registration numbers for a single change. Interest free rates and purchases from abroad (primarily thanks to the internet) meant that the bottom fell out of the second hand car market and more and more people were buying brand new. They way they've got it now means that the current system doesn't need to be changed until March 2051. Even then I think they'll change it to: ABC 51DE Giving us another 50 years before it needs to be changed again. Soon it will all be barcodes. Or lasers. Or something. Right out of Back To The Future! Not a bad idea actually...

Had a lie in today as I was up early yesterday for work (work from home though, none of that drive to the office malarky ) Missus and daughter off to the theatre this afternoon so I'll be keeping the little fella amused in the meantime (more likely the other way around). Fed up of having to re-decorate the tree and the little rat-bag has even found the power button on the PC - missus was none to chuffed last night as she was just about to finish her online grocery shopping when he hit the switch Might take him to one of those indoor play places to let him work off some of his energy!

We sign a kid on loan in a move that not many understood. Most of us thought he'd either be a hit and therefore hot-footing it back to Man Utd ASAP given their striker situation or that he'd flop meaning that we wouldn't persue him. Not many thought we'd sign him and hardly ever play him - can't understand it at all - we're paying his wages and I presume there's fees for the administration of the loan transfer to be taken into account? Kid never got a chance - I reckon he'll be awesome in the Championship and probably put the Mackems in with a strong bid for promotion.

'sokay - they needed some guinea pigs in order to get it right....

In Layman's terms, Microsoft claim that Internet Explorer 7 is bug-free.... It's anything but!
-
You know I'm fucking right though.... proven again that we are "amateurs in a systems admin world" as I have no clue if ya right or not I'd argue the amateurs are the clowns at MS who claim that BETA testing of IE7 is a thing of the past tbh.

That would be my first guess. But as Rikko says, if you've just bought it, take it back

installed the update last week...not bad so far. Hey Radg, we sound like a pair of nerds That'll be the update I'm avoiding like the plague then! I'll upgrade to it when I stop hearing the horror stories - same goes with Office 2007 which is good in principle but has a major issue which, if MS don't sort it soon, will piss off the paying public once it's unleashed for real. On a side note I totally disagree with 'upgrades' being including in Windows Updates. A patch or an update, yes but a complete upgrade should not be the result of "Windows has finished downloading your updates, please click OK to install"..

As we've got very limited parking spaces, I've taken a few photos of shit parking at work with my camera phone and sent them to security. Might be tempted to send them elsewhere now

Not one that was serving for that crime, but didn't one of the Krays get released?

2 life sentences, no time-scale given (don't think there ever is with 'life' as the length of it is descretional for the Home Office. I read somewhere that he is not to be considered for parole before 40 years though - same as the likes of Rose West and Ian Brady...
-
5 victims, he wont ever get out if its him! You'd like to think so. Surely got to be 5 life sentences, whats the minimum for "life" ? 15 years? 75 years for a 37 year old, can't see him getting out. Depends if they run them consecutively or concurrently... The maximum sentence currently operation in this country is 50 years IIRC.

5 victims, he wont ever get out if its him! You'd like to think so. Agreed.... On another note, I hope to fuck the police are right otherwise they've opened up an innocent member of the public for vigilante attacks. Surely it's not right to name him at this stage?
-
Agreed. They'd have to be ridiculously flat shoes that he was wearing as I was in trainers!
-
They've arrested someone.... Find it strange that they've named him already and makes you wonder if they've got something concrete on him. I remember when they arrested Ian Huntley, despite the fact that everyone knew who they arrested, the police refused to mention them by name. Also given the fact that he comes from the same village as that young girl 7 years ago who was murdered, you've got to wonder if the police are linking him to that too...

I'd thankfully never come across the stuff until Cath and Scott each ordered a pint of the stuff at the piss up in the summer. I made the mistake of asking what it was and Cath let me try it - it took 2½ pints of lager to rid the taste tbh!

You keep saying you're 6 ft, but I remain unconvinced. Look about 5 10 to me. I think you are right Gemmill, my first reaction on meeting Fish was that I was a good 15/16ths of an inch taller tbh. I am absolutely, bang on, spot on, exactly 6' Scott thinks I'm shorter simply because he wears high heels No way in hell are you two inches taller than me - we were more or less the same height when we were talking so Jimbo's estimate of 5ft 10 is about right

Don't complete your transaction until you've visited: http://www.vouchercodes.com/ to see if there's a promotional code you can enter for nothing. If you do your grocery shopping with Tesco, then cast your eyes here: http://tescovouchercodes.blogspot.com/
