1. I bet you'd have 'wasted your time' reading it if he was calling Souness a cunt though!
2. You were asking why he was revered, we're pointing out that it's because of his footballing abilities.... How simple do you need it? Did Hitler play football like?
3. Because he was one of the most talented people to ever wear a football shirt. Same as Best tbh...
4. RIP - no age that like.... Died while attending a family funeral apparently.
5. One arm tied behind his back as well!
6. Regardless of whether it was a sitter or not (and I don't think it was), if Dyer hadn't split their defence apart, the opportunity would never have been there in the first place. Fair enough credit Bellamy for the finish, but it's thanks to Dyer he got the opportunity to be the hero!
7. You reckon that he still loves NUFC then? Howay man, lose the fucking dellusion will you?
8. He's dreaming up a reply to try to discredit what you've written! It's bound to take time!
9. Fred carried nowt on - we've never been in as good or a better position since he's been at the helm than we were under SJH. And don't play they CL qualification line either. If the rules had been the same since 1993, we'd have qualified more times under Hall than we ever would under Shepherd. He has taken us into decline. And I told you before, Gullit's management of NUFC doesn't come into this discussion. For the record, the Gullit appointment mystified me...
10. Wouldn't be so bad if people didn't keep digging it up!
11. They're certainly obstinate enough to be.....
12. Sigh. Question answered many times Craig where I've said "we appointed a trophy winning manager who left a team that went on to win more under somewhere else. Question for you. Because of these wins, would you prefer Ken Bates as a chairman to Shepherd ? BTW, that doesn't answer ANY of my questions above. 101651 Forget about bringing up the fact that Gullit became our manager, it's not related to the question I'm asking. Answer the question, who would you say was responsible for winning that Cup? 101654 haha...I know what it is, you think it's Bates don't you, as you've already insinuated you think the chairman of a football club is really the manager ? 101658 Nothing to do with Bates either - can you please just answer the question? 101663 Craig, I've answered the question, the team manager was Vialli, who took over the team from Gullit and largely continued playing Gulllits team. I can't see what you are getting at.... do you think Vialli should be our next manager or something. You see, I ALWAYS think it is the manager who is responsible for the team on the pitch, and the players who are bought and sold, never the chairman or someone else interfering in the managers job. Now, as I don't duck questions, why don't you follow this example, and not before time. 101668 So Gullit set the foundations? 101671 Thank god someone sees where I'm coming from. Gullit laid the foundations but Vialli reaped the benefit and since then, has been creditted for winning the ECWC with Chelsea. My point is that the situation is the same with NUFC. We are were we are thanks to the work of SJH - it was he who turned this club from the disaster that they were into what they are today. Yet you praise Shepherd for it. OK, put it this way, if Shepherd had taken over at the end on 1991 instead of Hall, do you think we'd have had the same turnaround? I personally don't. I think we'd be talking about him in the same vein as McKeag, Seymour and Westwood. SJH - massive NUFC fan who had the money and footballing sense to do something about the club he loved. FS - local businessman who has seen a venture whereby he can make a mint and at the same time, put his name in the spot-light.

15. A question related on this theme LM, who do you credit with winning Chelsea the ECWC in 1998? Gullit or Vialli??
16. I was reading on Friday that Microsoft have apparently done other colour schemes apart from Blue, Silver and Olive but that no-one really knows how to get them. The additional colours are supposed to include Copper, Emerald, Ruby & Monochrome...
17. Can we please reduce the amount of N-O bashing? A bit of it every now and then is OK and harmless but this is turning into obsession and also it's becoming too personal I don't want to become draconian but it's becoming really tiresome now...
18. Craig

N-O

Closing this - we already have one thread (one too many some would argue) on N-O, we don't need another...
19. Not all of us were signing his praises prior to Souness!
20. Tosh! If someone can respond instantly to something on MSN they can answer the phone or reply to an email. Sounds like an excuse for a bit of browsing during the employers time if you ask me, like. Thieving fuckers, the youth of today. 101063 Depends how busy you are. I've got about 120 unread emails in my inbox at the moment and I deal with the oldest one first. If someone at work gets my by MSN I see it straight away and deal with it there and then if required. The amount of downtime following server failures has dramitically reduced since we had MSN installed. The person who needs to know finds out almost instantaneously.... Frightened of change tbh!
21. Irrelevant 101044 Make the noobs feel welcome why don't ya LM? Martin's put forward a decent discussion which, whether you agree with him or not, deserves a better response than 'irrelevant'...
22. Download it from here LM: http://messenger.msn.com/ Fantastic tool IMO - we're using it more and more at work as it's becoming a useful tool for getting hold of colleagues when you want a question answering - much better than dumping an email and waiting for them to respond or leaving phone messages that never get returned....
23. Nah... They use too many fancy words for his liking...
