Okay, just found out that my dad died yesterday. Had a fairly distant (not just mileage) relationship for many years, but have been in touch more recently, via cards and letters. I hope we had reached some understanding. Apparently diagnosed with ameloid myeloma on 8 October and obviously went quite quickly. Not quite sure how I feel, because of the strained relationship, but feeling more down than I anticipated. He had just turned 97 and got his driver's licence for another 3 years (which is obviously a bit scary), and was expecting to see that out, so even though he was a tremendous age, it has rather come out of the blue.
