Taylor can go for me - his positional sense invites teams on to us as he constantly plays them onside and he is unable to mark from set pieces - Collocini struggles without Bassong but i would certainly retain him - Every time Taylor plays we conceed and if you watch the game sitting in the stadium you understand why (you miss a canny bit of what goes on off the ball when you watch the telly)

Save from the inevitable goals he would score against us and the prestige of having such a big name player I tend to agree that he may be a luxury that we cannot afford to carry - his movement is still great but he has lost a lot of pace and power and frankly looks like he would rather be anywhere else but on the pitch - might be a different story if you could feed him chance after chance but that requires the team to be built around him and with his injury record it is a hell of a risk

I thought we played some great football on saturday but things fell to bits when we had no midfielders left (geremis legs went around 55 mins) and jfk fucked the subs up. CM is a position that has never been resolved since Speed left and I still reckon you get a someone like Appiah in (even if it isn't him) who is strong and can keep possession there is not much wrong with the team. Possession and the spine of the team are key - we are getting some solidity at the back and creating up front but Cm for me and obviously replace any players leaving

I was just about to post something about that He made one class tackle but was shit apart from that imo. He's not a natural right-back but that doesn't excuse him being a fucking cheat to his team mates. There were a few occasions when he basically hid and a few more when he kidded himself he was making himself available. He also played a short pass to Beye and Collocini and couple of times then pointed telling him where he wanted to play the pass, after he just passed the responsibility. I hate him like so he'll probably never get a fair crack of the whip from me. First touch was his hand when he came on - and i thought the rest of the defense visibly whithered along side him - I don't know if his shitness rubs off on them or he comes across as such a superhero they think they can leave everything to him - great saving tackle though
-
Spot on that - was near touchline in our half for the last 45 and it was ridiculous cos beye didn't have a clue what to do - taylor was shouting stuff at him but it obviously made nee sense and for the emtire half he ran round like a lost lad
-
I was in the paddock yesterday so didn't have the best overall view but i thought Martins' build up play was pretty good - he linked well with Nzogbia (who was really good) but I don't think he contributes any more than quite a few front players around but his finishing is fucking woeful - I reckon the likes of Lita and iwulemo could do as much and score more. For those about to trash me i would advise them to look at the header he missed and the one on one that he fucked up (just as well he was offside) I would accept he is quick and tries really hard and I like him for that but we would have been out of sight first half yesterday if he could finish. Stoke were the worst i have seen this season - woeful

I get the feeling that if he gave Kinnear 40m in the transfer window he could make the biggest comeback since Eric Bristow made the biggest comeback since Lazarus - Just my opinion but watch the tide turn
-
To me he is indicative of the whole southern bias - they forget that we have spent most of the time in the premiership as a major player and choose to stick the timpson in when we are at a low ebb - I couldn't think of a worse line up for a sport based radio show than him and that utter tosser durham
-
If he does go it would be the real cowards way out and vindicate widespread opinions of him - strange that this is kicking off before the inevitable arse raping at man u this weekend - gonna get my tenner on 5plus goals
-
I reckon Setanta are to satellite tv what three are to mobile phones - I was getting no signal last night either - pisses me off but at least nobody decent was playing
-
SA was got rid of as soon as he asked for more cash. Combined with some dreadful team performances - maybe Ashley has been sold the Wimbledon model and ditched the much quoted Arsenal model
-
The more time that passes the more it seems that this has been staged - maybe he got rid of KK because he wouldn't accept the fiscal strategy that ashley obviously wants to impose - for whatever reason it smells like all subsequent events have been managed in order to get Kinnear accepted and Ashley forgiven by the fans - Its not pleasant and he is not a nice guy but shit happens - if we can get somewhere with joe - fair enough - but it leaves a bad taste
-
Yeah and we're all novices - supported newcastle for thirty five years and don't confess to be a know all but you know fuck all about us just what you glean from the media that stereotypes us and the bollocks that gets said on radio and tv - make some random predictions and all of a sudden you're some sort of football oracle - you sound and probably are ridiculous and quite why you continue the onerous diatribe on this forum is beyond me
-
Exactly right - couldn't give a toss if we spoilt their march to the title - fact is it was a rearguard action against one of the best teams in europe and we came out of it with a point - JFK could spoil his way on a good cup run and i wouldn't knock him for it. On a point of all this negativity - what if he knows what he is doing and unearths some low cost gems from the lower leagues and europe? get rid of the shite overpaid players and bring some hungry aggressive types for me - his track record was nothing short of astonishing at wimbledon - fuck me we used to get cuffed every time we played down there - i am keeping an open mind and hoping for the best
-
Might be reading the situations wrong but i think there may be bother for Portsmouth and west ham i think perhaps their choice of manager and current economic factors may play a part in their end of season position. Not sure about blackburn either as well as the obvious contenders wba and stoke
-
He did a canny job at wimbledon - when you think of some of the players he unearthed - and if no sale goes through for the club i think this will be the route we will follow - picking up lower division players to fit a system and play with some passion - but i think you still need to build that around a midfielder who has some quality - a Dennis wise type player
-
Well Kinnear was apparently attending a match on friday night to look at a player - don't know who was playing like
-
Just a thought like but Appiah is out of contract and i always liked him as a player - might not be within the wage structure though

5 Non Newcastle things that would make me happy this season
Norbert Colon replied to a topic in Newcastle Forum
Well one of mine has come true already - Richard Dunne proving he is a clumsy oaf who isn't any better than any one of our defenders at the club even though i was roundly slagged off when offering this point of view. Don't feel smug though just relieved we didn't buy him. -
Redknap should have charges brought against him by the FA for being a baggy faced ugly cockney twat and for tapping up shay given

Have you seen any good teams this year
Norbert Colon replied to bobbyshinton's topic in Newcastle Forum
Then you would be wrong. To be fair their is only a gap of 6 points... but that's less about Spurs being any good and more about everybody in the league beating each other and small clubs getting massive results recently. Mate neither of our teams are any good. However I would put us both on a par with everton, who have looked equally rubbish this year and are currently sitting 7th. I'd put us both above Everton to be honest, the second Cahill gets another injury and if Arteta struggles they turn to complete shite. As for the prem, Chelsea and man are impressive, by the sounds of it Liverpool are now effective though nobody is raving about their performances and Arse go from impessive to shite when the nasty bullies kick Arsenses delicate little flowers off the park! Everyone else ranges from decent to mediocre by the looks of it, and with a run of wins you can get yourself to 5th in no time, a run of defeats and you're favourites for relegation! If we'd had our first choice team out this season we'd be laughing, but we've missed both our fullbacks, leaving us with CB's playing there, we've lost Barton and Jonas and thus all the drive and energy, and creativity in our midfield, plus no Viduka at all, and injuries to Owen and Martins, all 3 of who'm were vital to our good run at the end of last season. If we were to manage wins against Fulham and Wigan, people would seriously be looking to sneak a uefa cup place, struggle in those 2 games and you'd be in fear of relegation again, its mad! Its enough to make you cry - a couple more decent players and we could have risen above all the shite - haven't seen anyone outside of manu and chelsea that look genuinely exciting consistently - liverpool have more power than in recent years but are dull in the extreme - arsenals squad will be too small and as you say the rest are there for the taking on any given day. I might get some stick but I reckon there might be some surprises in the european spots this year and we could be one of them. -
The fashion police would have a fuckin field day

Anyone listening to the radio this afternoon would be in the know as Joe Kinnear said it in his interview. Why is everyone suddenly opposed to Keegan coming back? He had us playing well last season, the Man U game was a great start and then it all hit the fan! It seems to me the problem is the owner and the board. Well if news is to be believed then in 4 weeks the board will be gone, keegan will be back, he will have full control over transfers and a hefty sum of money to spend in Januray. Possibly training Shearer to take over from himself in 3 years time. That seems like pretty much the perfect scenario to me Yet people are still moaning? No complaints here - as cesc fabregas said today its not about winning stuff but enjoying football and i for one say that i never enjoyed watching newcastle as much as when kk was in charge (sbr was close like) as for Kinnear after the initial shock I listened to his interview and he seems a decent bloke who will try his best and is under no illusions - i wish him well for the time he is with us
-
Its just so embarrasing - el tel was fair enough but kinnear? hooftastic football that was outdated fifteen years ago - me thinks the end is nigh (putting the house and its contents on us going down on the back of this bombshell)

Just heard - stunned and shocked - where did they dig him up from? Oh my mistake thought they said roy not joe who is obviously a current high profile footaball manager as opposed to a deceased comedian
